Simple, yet sufficient
We were arriving into Nice late at night and booked a last minute room at Hotel Montaigne so we wouldn’t have to drive all the way to our first holiday spot in Cassis in the middle of the night. The hotel room was clean & comfortable. It didn’t really reflect the photos displayed, however I t was fine for what we needed it for. A few points to mention: - The towels in our bathroom didn’t appear clean and looked quite worn out (I.e. were discoloured and had holes) - The door to our room didn’t lock correctly, which was a little worrying - As we were arriving later at night, I had called ahead to flag this with reception and also to check whether it would still be possible to access the car park we had reserved for our stay, of which they said was completely fine. When we did arrive, we were notified that the parking could no longer be accessed and that we’d need to seek other offsite parking options. This was rather frustrating given we had previously called to check and it was just after midnight when we were arrived, however in saying this, the night concierge was incredibly helpful and was able to provide us with suitable options close by.
