A very nice Hotel

Posted 24-Apr-2017
Pros: Cleanliness comfort. The delightful little balcony off bedroom. Very quiet
Cons: Heat pool
Location: Need to drive to lake and city centre.
Comfortable, quiet, clean. A 5-10 minute drive from Canberra City Centre. Only down side was that the pool heater was not working which meant the water was chilly. A disappointment, however apart from that, a really pleasant stay.

Great hotel. The staff were wonderful and were able to give us an early check in, which was much appreciated.

Clean, friendly, close to Manuka spacious complex

Posted 10-Apr-2017
Pros: Comfort, locality staff
Cons: Opening the restaurant on weekends.
Location: Close to Manuka, Kingston, Parliament House old and new. Manuka oval. Old bus depot markets on Sundays. Lovely walks.
We had a nice stay at Forrest for the Canberra marathon. Two nights. It was a short walk to Manuka for dining and shopping. A pity the restaurant at the hotel is only open on weekdays. Having the bar there would have been handy for post relaxation after the race that night. It was clean and comfortable and the hotel complex is well maintained with a apartments as well tennis courts and a lovely BBQ area. Would stay here again.

Long awaited & planned weekend in Canberra

Posted 20-Mar-2017
Pros: The bathroom was clean, newly renovated and had lovely thick bath towels. The internet was easy to connect and had very good service.
Cons: The beds are far too hard. Supply thick padding underlays for guests who like softer beds, and ask at check-in if they need one.
Location: Position is great! Close to Manuka Oval, Parliament House, National Gallery, in fact central to most things.
I hadn't been to Canberra for about 5 years and was looking forward to the well planned full weekend visits to the National Gallery for the Versailles Exhibition, Australian War Memorial, a family catch-up, then watch the AFL Womens footy match Saturday evening. I planned to stay near Manuka Oval to walk to & from the game. I was disappointed with my stay. I like a very comfy bed that is the most important thing to me, but this hotel's bed was so very hard that sleep was impossible. The room was above the restaurant where late night noise from the outdoor deck was a problem. Cockroaches can be a problem anywhere, unfortunately I had to kill one on the wall near the television. The bathroom was lovely, newly renovated with thick fluffy towels. Internet service was good. I had to try to get some sleep so on the second night I I folded both blankets to make a thick pad & put this under the bottom sheet to give a padded area for sleeping on my side. This allowed me to get some sleep as I had a long drive back home the next day.

Nice Apartments close to shops and restaurants

Posted 18-Mar-2017
Pros: Location
Cons: 2nd daily cleaning and taking out of rubbish. Stayed for a week and room cleaned once.
Location: Close to Manuka shops and restaurants and the Parliament circle, close to city and Fyshwick.
Old building, thats Ok, carpet seemed a bit smelly. Good location to shops and restaurants and all the tourist sites.

From Perth To Sydney in 30 days not been in better

Posted 23-Feb-2017 on Hotels
I found the Hotel extremely good. I have been in Australia for a month and traveled from Perth to Sydney and this hotel in as good as the best and much better than most. I don't understand the reviews unless I got the best room in the place, which I doubt.

Comfortable stay

Posted 21-Feb-2017 on Hotels
Stay was fine except the location is very inconvenient being in a residential location. Nearest shopping is 15 minutes away. Only restaurant in the Hotel was very limited and expensive. It is more a MOTEL rather than a Hotel

Pros: The bed was very comfortable. The towels were thick & fluffy. Great having a toaster.
Good place to stay as it is in close proximity to Manuka
