Long awaited & planned weekend in Canberra

Posted 20-Mar-2017
Pros: The bathroom was clean, newly renovated and had lovely thick bath towels. The internet was easy to connect and had very good service.
Cons: The beds are far too hard. Supply thick padding underlays for guests who like softer beds, and ask at check-in if they need one.
Location: Position is great! Close to Manuka Oval, Parliament House, National Gallery, in fact central to most things.
I hadn't been to Canberra for about 5 years and was looking forward to the well planned full weekend visits to the National Gallery for the Versailles Exhibition, Australian War Memorial, a family catch-up, then watch the AFL Womens footy match Saturday evening. I planned to stay near Manuka Oval to walk to & from the game. I was disappointed with my stay. I like a very comfy bed that is the most important thing to me, but this hotel's bed was so very hard that sleep was impossible. The room was above the restaurant where late night noise from the outdoor deck was a problem. Cockroaches can be a problem anywhere, unfortunately I had to kill one on the wall near the television. The bathroom was lovely, newly renovated with thick fluffy towels. Internet service was good. I had to try to get some sleep so on the second night I I folded both blankets to make a thick pad & put this under the bottom sheet to give a padded area for sleeping on my side. This allowed me to get some sleep as I had a long drive back home the next day.

The apartments were rather old, but were very clean and spacious. Very close to everything. Plenty of room with everything you need. Staff are fabulous with many recommendations on where to go to enjoy Canberra.

It was ok... but wouldn't stay again.

Posted 14-Jan-2017
We stayed in room 44 and the aircon smells like pee. I don't think the walls are sound proof as we can hear people talking really loudy in the morning which means no sleep in :( We didn't have a no disturb sign in the room so the house keeper was knocking on our door :( And we had two knifes in our room so we couldn't eat my 2 min noodles at night :( The only good thing about this hotel were the staff members. They are really nice and helpful!! I think with abit of renovation, this hotel would be quite nice :)

Not what I expected

Posted 12-Jan-2017
Cons: Air quality
Location: Canberra is small, this place is easy walking distance to parliament and a shopping mall
We stayed for one night in this hotel, which is ok, it not meeting my expectation. The actual apartment room uses a different car entrance so we had to reload our luggage after checking in and drove to a different gate. The room looks clean, but there is a VERY unpleasant smell. Also the privacy in the bathroom is not very good when I shower. Overall, I found the photos online to be deceiving.
