Find hotels in Campouriez from £40

The best area to stay in Campouriez is in the heart of the village itself, or in the immediate surroundings, allowing easy access to its rural charm and the Lot River.

Couples seeking a tranquil escape will find the village centre ideal. It's a small, quiet place centred around the Church of Saint-Pierre, offering a genuinely peaceful experience. You'll find a few local guesthouses and holiday rentals here, providing a cosy base to explore the local walking trails and enjoy the natural beauty of the region.

For families, staying just outside the main village, perhaps in a gîte or a larger holiday home, offers more space and privacy. Many properties in the surrounding hamlets like Le Fel or La Vinzelle come with gardens and are close to the Lot River, offering opportunities for water activities or simply enjoying the outdoors.

The best times to visit Campouriez are during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months, when the weather is pleasant for outdoor activities and the region is less crowded.

Spring in Campouriez brings mild temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 20°C, and the countryside is lush with blooming wildflowers. This is an excellent time for those who enjoy hiking and exploring the natural beauty of the Aveyron region, such as the nearby Gorges de la Truyère. The longer daylight hours also allow for more extensive sightseeing.

Autumn offers similarly comfortable weather, with temperatures usually between 10°C and 18°C, and the landscape transforms with rich autumnal colours, particularly in the surrounding forests. This period is ideal for couples seeking a peaceful escape, perhaps visiting local markets to sample regional produce or enjoying scenic drives through the Lot Valley. The grape harvest season in nearby vineyards can also add a unique local flavour to your trip.

While summer (July and August) is also popular, with warmer temperatures averaging 25°C to 30°C, it can be busier with holidaymakers.
