My husband and I stayed for one night at the Dry Cottage in Ivy on Glenelg and were blown away by how cosy and comfy it was. We reached in the evening and initially considered eating out but decided to stay in after seeing how well equipped the cottage was with all manner of creature comforts. The Dry Cottage comprises just one room with an ensuite bathroom, but thanks to the clever optimisation of space, the room fits a bed, two sofas and a TV, a lounge area, a dining table, a kitchen area with a dishwasher and fridge, and even a washing machine. For those who wish to cook, the kitchen includes rice, a variety of pasta, instant noodles, various condiments and equipment (even a rice cooker!) for your use. Breakfast provisions were very generous as well - a variety of bread, cereals, milk, juice, muffins, and delicious yoghurt with fresh berries. Fret not about getting bored too, as the owners have thoughtfully provided books and DVDs for your enjoyment. Was impressed as well by how the bathroom had senior friendly features like handlebars and seats. The only small downside was that the Wifi didnt work very well when we were there, but overall it was a fantastic experience. Thanks to our hosts for your warmth and hospitality!

Historical house on Ivy
Quaint historical cottage with all amenities available, friendly helpful owners. Private parking, very quiet and peaceful stay.

Breakfast- so much to choose from, so we had our poached eggs (fresh from chooks) and bacon for dinner. Lovely quiet courtyard, interesting house to stay in. Very helpful host.

You obviously did not listen to the welocme which explained your food options and the pasta, noodles and rice. Obviously not what you you get free of charge in other establishemnets

Hazardous regarding mobility, cramped inside not a lot of room to move around, dangerous steps inside. Appreciate it’s an old building but if you need space at all to move between bed, seat, room very difficult, small steps inside are dangerous.

The cottage was absolutely gorgeous and comfortable. The hosts provided the most amazing range of breakfast options that I have not had before . The host took time to show me around their property and discuss what was available in the town. I would definitely stay at Ivy on Glenelg again.

An old, but comfortable and well equipped B&B
The Ivy on Glenelg provides a genuine taste of country living in a well equipped apartment. The owners, David and Irene were both friendly and very helpful. You couldn’t hope for better hosts. If you are driving from Devonport or Launceston to Hobart. Campbell town and the Ivy on Glenelg provide a decent alternative to either Ross or Oaklands as a place to stay.

The unit was so beautiful. It was the perfect little cottage getaway full of beautiful nibbles, warm, safe and comforting little spot and the onsite managers were so lovely and kind to me. Loved every moment there.

Beautiful Heritage home
Beautiful heritage house with lovely owners in quiet area. Very well looked after by Irene and David. Drive to St Helens via Fingal and then back to Launceston via Pyengana spectacular scenery. We stayed at Campbell Town on drive Hobart to Launceston via Wine bay cruise.

Great stay—recommended
Irene and David have thought of everything. There is an espresso machine _and_ a milk frother. There is a full kitchen (with dishwasher) with an egg poacher and home-grown eggs in the fridge. Heated bath towels. The space is beautifully restored and comfortable. Close to restaurants. I had a great stay.

We had the loveliest time staying at Ivy on Glenelg. David is the most gracious host: our room is cooled down before arrival and the most thoughtful snacks and drinks read. He even reminded us to run laundry so they will get dry on time. Our room is so beautifully decorated, so comfortable and full of happy detailed surprises. Our 8 year old loved running in the backyard chatting with Davie, cats, chickens and alpacas. We would love to come stay again, for longer next time. What a delight!

We've stayed in a few B & B's but nothing compares to this gem. Our hosts were wonderful, the food was in abundance and the room was just perfections. All credit to the owners of this establishment, well done!

Lovely B&B with ALL the amenities
We were warmly greeted by our host and shown to an apartment with every amenity one could think of. Clearly a lot of care went into making their guests happy and comfortable. Breakfast was prepared and left in the refrigerator as well as homemade goodies and a well stocked pantry and refrigerator. A living room area complete with TV and instructions on how to use it were available to us. It was modern but cozy. The bath was spacious and modern. There was a washer and dryer in our apartment. It was quiet and restful with a comfortable bed. It was our favorite spot on our 30 day trip and can't recommend it highly enough.
