Oceanfront home with water views - central AC, washer/dryer & beach access
As its name implies, Serenity Cove Cottage offers a peaceful Maine oceanfront retreat less than two miles from all that downtown Camden has to offer.
This vacation house is tucked in amongst the pines, and situated on a private road with 120 feet of shorefront. The beach is quintessential Maine with both rocky and sandy portions and beautiful views of Penobscot Bay and the outer islands. It is accessed via a steep shared stairway. Camden Hills State Park with its extensive trail system for hikers and bikers is within walking distance of Serenity Cove Cottage.
Serenity Cove is an air-conditioned contemporary beach house with an open floor plan. The large windows bring the light and views inside, while a deck off the living and dining areas looks out over the bay. The cottage is comfortably furnished, with ceiling fans in the bedrooms enhancing the ocean breeze.
This is a seven-night minimum stay rental.

We spent a wonderful week at Saganook. It was fascinating to read the history about the old house. There was plenty of space for our extended family, and we especially enjoyed the little cabins. The house is well-appointed and well-stocked. We enjoyed the outdoor shower. It was amazing to be able to kayak right from the property. We saw eagles and seals on our early morning paddles. Thank you for sharing this special place. We can't wait to return.
The property was everything we wished and more. The description did not do it justice. Some of the things the description did not mention are privacy. The property is remote. It is spread out and you dont see or hear neighbors. Perfect if you bring a dog. The studio building mentioned is beautiful. There are three beds but also a deck over the water. Perfect place for sunset cocktails. It was a great surprise. The views are carzy beautiful. There wasnt a moment someone was not in one of the rocking chairs on the porch. There are several hammocks, great for afternoon naps. Three kayaks (two singles, one double). A hodge-podge of kids bikes are available. The second bathroom is a powder room accessible from outside (clean and nice) and a great outdoor shower setup. We all preferred the outdoor shower to the indoor one. The dining table only seats eight however there are folding tables and chairs available on the screen porch. The screen porch is a great place for ghost stories right before bed. The beds were comfortable, plenty of towels, however you may want to bring beach towels with you. We did and were glad. There is a clothes line available and gas grill. The house is rustic, lots of knickknacks which are a bit dusty. It is the quentisential new england beach cottage many new englanders grew up going to. I highly recommend.
Surrounded by water, we immediately felt relaxed upon arrival. The kayaks, fire pit, and grill were all in good shape. This is a special property: somewhat rustic, cute old cabins, but close to lots of fun Maine activities. Highly recommend this for a large group of family/friends!

Wonderful!
We loved everything about our stay at Saganook! The property is quiet and peaceful with breathtaking views. We had 5 young children that enjoyed exploring the property and spent full days playing in the yard. The water was surprisingly warm and we loved taking the kayaks out around the bay. We enjoyed having enough separate spaces but also a large screen porch where we could enjoy our dinners all together. As another reviewer has mentioned, it is more rustic, so if you are looking for luxury, this might not be the best place for you. Thank you for sharing this wonderful property!

Great Family Venue by the Sea
We loved the rustic charm, history and family lived-in feel of this place. We loved the cabins and studio - plenty of privacy. We loved the convenient location to grocery stores. We loved the lawn for games. The big screen for family movie night. Swimming in Middle Bay, warmer than I expected. Canoeing and kayaking. Watching the terns, eagles, osprey, herons, egrets, occasional seals, and especially the family of phoebes just outside the kitchen door. Kitchen is small but with plenty of utensils, dishes, tools, pots and pans. Our group of 11, ages 3 to 68, loved our time here.

Third Year at Saganook!
You cannot beat the location of Saganook or the fact that there is plenty of room for family to come stay. This was me and my husband’s third year and we love it. Our kids and grandkids join us (ages 10 months to 17 years) and they love it every bit as much as we do. As usual, we were sad to leave paradise and come back to reality…!
We enjoyed beautiful views on this lovely point. The beds we’re comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped except no dishwasher. The furniture was comfortable. Loft bedroom lacked adequate privacy and noise protection but had a great view. We loved the outside shower and toilet. If you enjoy a rustic typical Maine summer camp this is for you.
This is a great rental, especially for a large group! The views are amazing, the wildlife is superb, and the privacy is great! It was pretty well stocked with everything we needed and everyone in our group had a wonderful time. The trail down to the beach is quite tough. Small children or people with small mobility issues would struggle, but if you can get down there, pitch a chair and enjoy a great beach day!!! The outdoor bathroom and shower were perfect and used a lot. Plenty of outdoor seating and lights for outdoor use day/night. Having a rental close to so many grocery stores was also very helpful. We arrived 5 minutes before check in time and found every bed had been slept in without a linen change, a 3ft pile of dirty towels in the bathroom, and trash/recyclables left from the previous week. We did promptly call the 3rd party manager (Vacasa) and was told we were supposed to get notified that check in had been changed from 4 to 5:30. Never really had that happen before, and the one cleaner didn’t show until then and finished around 7:30. Everyone in our group was driving 3 hours and we were grabbing a hannaford to go on the way up so not sure how that would work. The cleaner who showed certainly did his best, but the recycling was left for us and he said he couldn’t clean the kitchen since our groceries were there. The only other side issue was a landscaping company showed up with weed wackers and riding mowers without notice.
