A beautiful Cambridge Victorian home built in 1885 with off-road parking. 10 min walk/4 min cycle to city centre. Recently modernised with spacious, stylish and comfortable rooms for up to seven guests, making it ideal for a family, group of friends or co-workers.
Your host is an academic at the university (exclusive complimentary tour?) and has 20+ years experience as a landlord of furnished homes.
Cleaning, bed linen and booking processes managed to a professional standard.
The space:
Located in the heart of the historical city of Cambridge and found in a safe residential neighbourhood. The home suits family's, group of friend's, short term student accommodation and co-worker's; everything you need is moments away with shops minutes away and the fairytale of Cambridge 10 mins walk away.
The home is a spacious Victorian house, built in 1885! Recently refurbished to a high standard with a modern finish, the four bedroom home is thoughtfully furnished with elegant pieces and homely touches to ensure you have a local’s experience of Cambridge.
Your host is a local academic at the university, who would be delighted to show you around. They have over 20 years experience of being a landlord with furnished properties, bringing a wealth of experience to ensure you have a comfortable stay.
Living areas:
The lounge is a modern classic, a traditional 3-seater sofa in a rich navy blue velvet giving it a modern twist, it is certain to impress. To complement, a chic armchair is provided and a range of lighting options. The 46 inch TV comes with Freeview (BBC, ITV, Channel 4 etc) and an HDMI cable for your entertainment connections.
The sitting room, is a stylish separate space for reading or relaxing whilst enjoying a book or glass of port, in front of a Victorian period fireplace. A reading light is provided, as well as a range of lighting options.
The kitchen and dining area to the back of the house comes with a modern kitchen, oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, microwave, kettle and toaster. A range of plates, utensils and cooking equipment is provided, along with basics such as oil, salt & pepper and herbs. All yours to enjoy cooking some local produce from the market (we have CamCattle selling local beef from their meadows around the city in the market every Sunday). The comfortable dining area with rich corduroy chairs over looks the garden. What birds can you spot? A useful guide is provided! And watch out for the local to Cambridge, the black squirrel! Quite an impressive sight! A breeding couple live in the gardens.
Bedrooms: All provided with soft 2-pillows per person and bath/hand towels. Toiletries can be found in the bathroom.
Main bedroom: An elegant modern take on a William Morris classic. The chic red velvet firm/medium double bed and strawberry thief bedding is accompanied with wardrobes and chest of draws. Situated to the rear of the home. It is true luxury.
Second main bedroom: William Morris's strawberry thief in an elegant olive green over a firm/medium double bed. A large wardrobe and study area is provided. To rear of home.
Twin bedroom: Mr Fox is ready to ensure two sharers or siblings have a fantastic sleep on the two single firm/medium beds.
Single bedroom and office/work space: The colourful birds come out to sing as you work in the day and sing you to sleep at night. A single firm/medium day bed is provided, whether you want to study or have sweet dreams in the sky.
Situated along Histon Road, the university and tourist attractions are moments away. There’s a couple fantastic pubs locally too. A direct bus (A) travels to/from the train station. And '8/8A' into town.
Your host lives around the corner and happy to help managing your stay, the home is professionally cleaned and the linen/towels are replaced with freshly laundered supplies between each stay. For longer stays, a mid-stay clean and replacement of linen is available for a small fee.
Guest access:
Guests have full, exclusive and private access to the whole house. Your host shall meet you at arrival with keys and an introduction to the home.
Please note, the home is currently on the local housing market for sale, whilst reasonable efforts to arrange viewings around guest stays shall be made, on occasion viewings might occur during your stay. You shall be given ample notice and receive a free mid-stay clean (not linen).
Other things to note:
- Parties, events or gatherings of any kind are not allowed. The home is in a residential area. - Groups of friends, co-workers are invited to stay as long as they keep noise to the minimum between 23:00-07:00 (UK law). - Mid-stay cleans are possible for stay’s over 7 days. - No smoking inside the property. - Broadband internet (up to 200 Mb) is provided. - Pet are welcome, but shall incur a charge and you are asked to contact the host prior to your stay to discuss your pet’s needs. - Please kindly remove shoes at the main door. - This is a home and not an investment, please care for it as you would your own.
