Just what you want!
Ideal for arrival or departure via the ferry. This is a basic 2* hotel with very small bedroom and very small shower room. But it’s just what you want, clean, comfy bed and very important, private parking. Good value breakfast @€10 NB needs a better photo - mine!!

Poor shower spoiled stay
In general but let down by shower not having a shower screen/curtain Twice a day the floor had to be mopped of the excess water. Not ideal!

Great Value for Money Hotel Close to Ferry Port
Perfect for short stays around of the Ouistreham area. Central location and very close to the ferry port.

Pleasant stay at Le Normandie for War Grave Visit.
We stayed at Le Normandie, as were we visiting my Grandfather's War Grave at Hermanville d' Sur mer, for the first time. The Hotel wasn't too far away. Staff were very helpful and pleasant, nothing too much trouble. Hotel room quite basic, but clean. No tea/coffee making facilities unfortunately. No frills, but served a purpose. 👍

Overnight and late arrival.
It was an overnight stop after a ferry crossing from Portsmouth. We did not arrive until 10.15 pm but were greeted very civilly. There was a car parking area alongside the hotel. The restaurant and bar had shut, but the staff gave us a drink and we sat in the annexe on the other side of the street to drink it. The bed was pretty comfortable and the bathroom, though old-fashioned, was clean and adequate. We left before breakfast the following day but were happy with our stay.

Three Pleasant Days at Le Normandie.
As usual the greeting was warm and friendly at Le Normandie. The room was clean and tidy with a comfortable bed. The water heating broke down over the first night so we upgraded to a larger room in the annex across the road. The breakfast is continental with plenty to eat with a pleasant variety. The only down side was the issue with young men hanging about in groups as they tried to board lorries going to the ferry as to stow away and gain access to the UK. These groups can be a little intimidating in the evening while they are trying to hide from the French authorities.Price and location are fair and I will stay there in the future. DY.

I was staying in the area as I was preparing for several battlefield tours I am leading in 2019. I found that Le Normandie was a great place to be based when looking at Gold, Juno and sword Beach as well as the 6th Airborne landings. I have stayed on several occasions in this hotel. The rooms are good. The service is friendly, the food in the restaurant is excellent. I would be happy to stay here again.

Food is great but not enough really nice place but a bit too much with the illegal immigrants running after the lorry to the port. Only 500 yards from port so relent place to stay.

Excellent friendly welcome. Complied with our special needs for ground floor room. Produced marvellous meal at dinner and generally everything ticked all the boxes. For a budget hotel it deserves greater accolade.

Simple but perfect
Straight off the boat to the hotel 200 yards or so. Free parking on site and next to all the restaurants. I’d struggle to rate this star wise, but if you’re after a clean, simple overnight stay, this will do every time.

DDay sightseeing
One night stay due to taking ferry out next morning. Very grateful for earlier checkin and being able to leave our bags in the room. Walk into town is about 15 mins and a few sights to see around the beach about DDay. There is also quite a few restaurants and pub Cafes when you can eat for a reasonable price. It's about a 15 min walk from hotel to checkin at Brittany Ferry. We stayed on the opposite side of hotel Le Normandie as they own those rooms as well and the wifi was terrible which we were informed about. Didn't work at all so we sat in the main part of hotel and checked emails. If you are needing wifi for business or any urgent things that side would not be suitable, for us we didn't care.

Very convenient for the cross channel early ferry.
This hotel was ideal as a safe haven in uncertain weather, (fog forecast for the early morning ) to spend the night before catching the early morning ferry. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the evening meal freshly cooked and reasonably priced. The room was clean and to the point, nothing fancy but warm and quiet. A pleasant evening enhanced by the knowledge that I did not have to go far to catch the ferry in the morning.

Stayed twice for the ferry - the rooms are clean, a little spartan for €97 (Breakfast is a €10 extra), but fine. I'd have liked an extra pillow. I didn't eat in the restaurant (Kids found French MacDonalds to be as wild as they would go) but it smelt and looked delicious. Only really negative - I left at 7am and the reception is locked until 7.30. I resorted to leaving the key in the room and a note under the door. I had stated when checking in I was leaving then and hadn't been told I couldn't check out. But overall - if you want somewhere you can see the ferry from this is a good hotel.

Budget Operation
Le Normandie was a budget hotel with tiny rooms and a toilet in the bathroom without an adequate vent making the room and the bathroom have unpleasant odors. THe Internet was so slow that neither my traveling partner nor I could access attachments or even use Safari smoothly. I woudln't return.

A mediocre hotel small with no coffee making facility,clean quiet and helpful staff with no access to the reception staff before 8 a.m. also a reasonable restaurant which is helpful when you had a long day in the car. Beds are comfortable

Hotel was consistent with our previous stays. Very convenient. The big issue for us is the smell of stale smoke in every room we have stayed over the past three years, otherwise the hotel is satisfactory for our needs.
