This Mediterranean styled villa overlooks the enchanting Hodges bay and is nestled amidst the windswept fauna of Point Dubique on the east coast of Dominica. As its name suggests, it is a house of panoramic views of the Atlantic ocean, Hodges river as well as the majestic Mountain ranges of Morne Trois Piton and Morn Diablotin. Atlantic breezes refresh and inspire making this villa ideal for relaxation. In addition to the captivating views, you will delight in the pleasant sounds of the seasurf, parrots, seagulls, pelicans as well as the soothing melodies of the revitalizing winds that bless the villa. This picturesque Villa Vista comprises two floors, the top floor housing the master bedroom and spa facilities. The ground floor has one and a half bathrooms and two bedrooms: a Queen-sized and two twin beds fondly called the green and blue rooms respectively. The kitchen is self-contained and outfitted with you in mind, to continue that home away from home experience. It comes complete with refrigerator, microwave, stove with oven, coffeemaker, and toaster. The living room is cosy with its bed/couch and flat screened television to keep you entertained- you may view a selection of local and foreign channels or just gaze at the beautiful scenery from this comfort zone. Or you may wish to recline on one of the deckchairs on the open terrace, engage in yoga or just swim in the revitalizing negative edged pool or just enjoy a good rum punch as you bask in the pool while gazing at the enthralling vista. If you like keeping fit, there is an invigorating walk or run down to the beckoning beach where you can engage one of the fishermen in conversation or just sit quietly alongside the rolling river or join in the relaxing art of fishing. If you visit during the full moon, the nights will become your days and your nirvana. The upstairs master bedroom houses a king-sized bamboo bed, a hot tub and a pristine view of the land and seascape. All this can be enjoyed while you take a soothing soak in the villa’s Jacuzzi. Villa Vista was built with you in mind, wireless/wifi to keep you linked with the rest of the world should you wish to remember that there is such a place, as the villa has a magical effect on all who enter. The many pictures were specially chosen to have you experience through visual impact our West Indian culture. All of them are by West Indians artists- Derek Walcott, Bosco Holder, Earl Etienne, Shalini to name a few; and depict aspects of our culture- cricket, carnival, our native Amerindians- the Kalinago of Dominica and the Garifuna of Belize, as well as our local dances (Bele). The house is situated just above the coast with a beautiful view over the ocean and surrounded by tropical vegetation. You can walk down to a lovely little beach where a beautiful river flows into the sea where you can swim in crystal clear water.Although it was a very windy week we were able to spend most of our time on the terrace. Calibishie is a lovely village with friendly people and some good restaurants, although shopping facilities are limited. A great house overlooking a beautiful bay in a very quiet area. There is a patio with views to the ocean, a surprisingly cold plunge pool, and everything you need. Tons of space too, for our family of four. No AC, but you don't need it! Constant ocean breezes kept the place cool and bugs away. You can go to the bay below, but the ocean is not very swimmable there. No worries though there are several drivable beaches nearby, including the amazing Batibou beach. We would go out for the day and enjoy the wonders of this amazing country. It was nice to know that upon returning, there would be this great pool, views, and breezes. Very relaxing! There is a small grocery store within walking distance. It had everything we needed, your results might vary, but if you are open-minded, you might be shocked by how awesome Dominica is! There is also a great restaurant you can walk to, Poz, and Calabishie with more restaurants is a short drive away. I probably wouldn't recommend trying to drive from here to attractions in the southern part of the island, but there is enough to do up north to warrant 4-5 days. Cool breeze keeps bedroom cool in the evening. Hot tub and pool are excellent. Great shower in master bedro is sooothing. Try out the Red Rock Cafe, the Chocolate Facorty and the Coral Reef Bar and Restaurant. Only negative for us is that there were no skillets or pans to cook with the house (or we could not find them). ##### Jackie T. Such a great property. Definitely one of the nicest on the island. A great place to come back to after our daily adventures. The ability to open up all the windows and let the breeze in made up for the lack of air conditioning which is normal here. The space was great and the ability to walk down to the beach. The path is steep but only a short walk. The only thing I would say the house needs some improvement is to update some of the kitchen supplies, sharper knives and just some things missing, etc. As a family of five with kids we ended up eating in a lot of nights and cooking so we gave the kitchen utensils a work out Definitely check out the O and A mini mart at the end of the road at the house, they have most of your basic supplies to make a meal. Overall our stay was amazing and nothing short of an adventure! ##### Jessica W. Sunrise and moonrises were spectacular. Decent grocery shopping in Calibishie but the best store we found was Savers Enterprise in Portsmouth. Safety & privacy were excellent. The house is sited in a way that no one can see and there is no other property "looking down" on you. We loved using the hot tub and the plunge pool. The villa is incredibly well designed and built. You have complete privacy. There are neighbors but you cannot see each other. Dominica is one of the most beautiful unspoiled places on the planet. But we found driving in Dominica difficult so we hired local guides from Calibishie and they were fabulous. Took us all over the island and allowed us to relax. Very memorable stay. ##### Jeff P. This island is beautiful and the sunrise we saw every morning from our back deck was stunning. There was a constant wind throughout the house so none of the bug spray we brought was used! My 10 year old son hiked down to the bay the first morning all on his own without any issues. The closest “large” grocery is in Portsmouth about 35 min away so plan accordingly. Comfortable beds and a great place to come back to each day after exploring Dominica. ##### Katherine D. The views from the villa are spectacular!!!!! With that beautiful sea breeze we didn’t need air conditioning! The rooms were excellent with enough bathrooms and toilets for the 5 of us no problem, Everything you need is in the kitchen from washing machine to microwave etc just fantastic!
