InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa by IHG
8/10 Good
"Pros: great staff, beautiful property, wonderful breakfast, comfortable and clean suite, lovely pools, well equipped exercise and spa facilities, good internet in public areas, vocalist was outstanding, shout out to Sara in the restaurant!
Cons: poor internet in suite, inconsistent electricity in our first 2 suites, expensive food, far from many sites and tours and cabs were expensive, signage around property would be helpful"
"So the hotel is fab! Clean! And pretty. My only only only issue: the females attitude. There were other people both males and females complaining how they were rude, most questioned was it the culture??? I’m from Dominica and no. It’s not. They did not help out nor were they kind. Let me specify: it was not rhe females at the front desk check in area. It was the other resturant and bars. We got a chance to meet Mr. Bedminister and he made us feel safe and at home! He had great energy! I will return next year for sure but I hope the females get a training on their approach towards the visitors."
"What impressed me most was the feet dim lights when going to the bathroom areas.
The AC was very cold fridge worked very well The bed was clean and firm. You got robe slippers and chargers for phones.
The food was amazing with heavy duty silverware different not like the regular plain silverware.
What I found need to slightly adjust is the outdoor set up it was to close to other sitting areas the tables were to big so it looked cluttered.
Lastly I was on the top floor I believe I was probably the only person at the premium level and at nights the took off the lights in the corridor walkway which I think they should kerp on it was dark walking in that area.
Other than that Great service and most importantly CLEAN. I guess it was still new hopefully they upkeep the level."
"Beautiful serene property right off the ocean and a river. The ocean is not a beach for swimming but the resort has a pool. Peaceful lush environment. An amazing staff all around. Sernita was very friendly and always went out of her way to satisfy our needs. Ellen was very knowledgeable about the island’s plants and allowed us to harvest to make our own unique teas. We also received world class massages. The one downside would be the food. Average at best. All in all a beautiful island and it was the perfect getaway."
"Stunning property with a private beach and the most magnificent view! Our host was so gracious and accommodating. She went out of her way to make our wedding day special. The food offered was delicious and plentiful. This property is fairly remote so we were very glad to have a car, but it provided the peace and quiet we really wanted. I would love to stay here again."
Villa Vista--Luxury Private Beachfront Villa with Spectacular Views!
10/10 Excellent
"This house was a little slice of heaven in an unspoiled country with the friendliest people you will ever meet. The house owner and host were both available, attentive, and helpful as our family of five enjoyed the village of Callibishie and the island of Dominica. The house is clean and laid out well, with amazing views, an outdoor pool, and an indoor hot tub. Chris connected us with a local who provided us with meals many days, stocked our pantry before we arrived, and gave us helpful hints for our trip. We connected with Wendy from Untouchable Tours. Keep in mind, Calibishie is in the north, near the airport, but 1.5 hours from Roseau, the capital. "
"I honestly can’t say enough about the beauty, privacy, and peace of this property, nor can I speak highly enough of Brynmore and Bob, whose generosity and commitment to a perfect experience went above and beyond…but honestly, there’s one thing about this place that I will never forget, and that is Brandy, the sweetest and friendliest dog in all of the Caribbean. If you, like me, are an animal lover, she is easily the best substitute for your own furry friends, and will come over to say hi every time you’re starting to need a fix on some snuggles and love. Beyond this - and again, if this was a straw hut and Brandy it’s still getting five stars - the house was so amazing, comfortable and fresh in every kind of weather, with a view that is unreal. It’s located very comfortably to explore the island, and appointed with literally everything you could need - the thoughtfulness of the owners in setting it up this way is tremendous. Bob was so friendly and helpful, and made our visit easier than I could have hoped for. If you are coming to Dominica and this place is available, snatch it up!!!"
