This is a basement suite just off the ring road (Stoney Plain) and just down the hill from a big collection of the standard, suburb big box shops. Being on the ring road, it's very fast to get to other areas of the city. It's clean and quiet; protected from the noise of the traffic by a big, beautiful grassy hill. The rooms are big and the beds are comfy. The host is kind and communicative. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Comfortable and Convenient

Our hosts were very welcoming and let us know they were available to resolve any issues that came up, not that any did!The location was super convenient with walking access to shopping and restaurants. The beds were very comfortable and the property was well maintained.

Francis was a great host! He was responsive and worked with us to ensure we had a great stay! The place was very clean and had the amenities we needed. If you are in the area and need a clean and safe place to stay with an extremely kind host this is it!

Amazing Family stay!

Francis is very courteous & prompt to our needs! We love the space. Very spacious, clean and comfortable for what a family needs. Definitely a recommend! We will be back and stay again here for sure!

Friendly hosts and clean suite

Francis and his family were friendly and welcoming. The basement suite was clean and spacious. They were accommodating and allowed us to check in a little early. They also helped us get the home theatre working to watch a Stanley Cup game.

Spacious and PS4!

This was a lovely place for a short stay in Calgary before catching an early flight. The king bed was spacious and we wish we had had more time to enjoy the surround sound/home theater set up in the living room. Walkable to a shopping area and a nice neighborhood!

Pleasant stay

We choose this property as it has plenty of room for our kids. The host/owner and his son were really friendly and helpful; Francis had been checking in on us see if there anything else that we need. If there is a tivi to keep the kids entertain, that will be perfect! We made up by giving them the ipads. Overall pleasant stay!

Property was as-advertised. Clean. Recently renovated. Quiet neighborhood. Had to contact property manager with a couple questions (access code and WiFi issue), and he replied quickly. Good stay - would come back.

Neighborhood was quite safe and central to our needs being close to Stoney Trail. It wasn’t clear on Expedia whether the property was a basement suite which it ended up being as I read the entire home somewhere when initially booking but suspected it was only the basement suite given its pricing. The one thing we did immediately note however was a distinct smell which will be somewhat offsetting for anyone sensitive to smell. It shouldn’t be a deal breaker for most but it should be noted. We kept the door to our bedroom closed with the window open.

Great place to stay. Close to shops and easy access to the highway leading to Banff. We stayed for 5 nights, would have been nice to have an oven or air fryer as we wanted to eat in more. Through our stay I did have a few questions for our host and he was prompt to answer and very accommodating! Was a very nice family. Would recommend and stay again!

I did not receive check in instructions so I had to call the host for the information. The stairs to get down to the unit are quite steep and we almost tripped a few times. The mattresses were worn out and uncomfortable. The most frustrating part was receiving a text at 10:20 PM to move one of our vehicles that was parked on the public street parking to make room for the neighbour (even we made sure where we parked did not blocking anyone's driveway) We had an extremely long day and were in bed but we immediately moved our vehicle, and blocked in our other vehicle that was parked on the host's driveway. I then received a phone call at 10:30 PM to disregard the text messages even though we had already moved the car. The following morning at 6 AM I receive a text from let the host to let him know if I have any questions. We never felt like we could fully relax due to worrying about what other messages we were going to get and for the lack of seating. The pull out couch does not seat more than 3 people, so for our group of 5, it was not functional. The dining table chairs are too high for the table and we were unable to properly sit and have our legs under the table. Our stay overall was just "ok" but it's not a place I would be recommending or wanting to rebook next time we travel through or visit Calgary.
