The home itself is absolutely stunning but the road to the villa is not just narrow, it's washed out in many places, we struggled to navigate the potholes even with a jeep and an SUV, I would not drive it at night. There are great amenities like the fridge and bathroom downstairs, the coffee / cocktail bar is fabulous.The kitchen was well-stocked with basic spices and supplies but it was crawling with roaches. Wifi is spotty so be sure to have the guidebook downloaded and screenshots of the phone number to call because the phone number posted throughout the villa is not functioning. Even in August the combination of ACs, fans, and breezes kept the temprature very comfortable. Excellent pool, though very little shallow area, if you're traveling with kids or weaker swimmers.

Without a doubt, our stay at Mata ‘e Platano was amazing! The photos don’t do this property justice—it is even more breathtaking in person. The landscaping and outdoor spaces are beautiful, tranquil, and exceptionally well maintained. The lo-fi music playing throughout the property created the perfect zen atmosphere. The location was ideal: close to El Yunque, beaches, restaurants, and everything we wanted to explore, yet secluded enough to feel peaceful and private. We loved spending our time by the pool, reading, and simply enjoying the serenity. It’s truly perfect for adults looking to relax and disconnect. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, and the recommendations provided by the property were a wonderful touch. We followed their beach recommendation and visited San Miguel Beach, a remote and absolutely fantastic beach that became one of the highlights of our trip. We were lucky enough to have the entire property to ourselves. Check-in was easy with the access code, and having the gate key made coming and going convenient. And the sweetest surprise? Meeting the neighbors’ two adorable Schnauzers! 🐶 They definitely made our stay even more memorable. Mata ‘e Platano truly feels like a little piece of heaven. If you’re visiting Fajardo and want a beautiful, serene escape close to everything but away from the crowds, don’t miss this place! We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back!

My experience at Don Rafa Suites Residence was absolutely wonderful and exceeded our expectations. We stayed with our family, and from the moment we arrived, we received friendly, attentive, and professional service. The property is beautiful, elegant, clean, and comfortable.We especially appreciated the valet parking service. Our vehicle was well taken care of throughout our entire stay, and the service was always fast and efficient. We also had a late checkout, which made our experience even more convenient and enjoyable. Everything was handled smoothly and professionally. One detail we absolutely loved was how amazing the property smelled. The entire place had such a fresh, clean, and elegant scent that made the atmosphere even more welcoming. Overall, we felt very comfortable and well taken care of from beginning to end. The experience was even better than we expected. Don Rafa Suites Residence was truly a 10/10 experience for us, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful place to stay, whether traveling with family or enjoying a getaway as a couple.
