When is the best time to go to Caicun?

The best time to visit Caicun is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) months. These seasons offer the most pleasant weather, with comfortable temperatures and less rainfall. Spring brings blooming flowers and lush greenery, making it ideal for outdoor activities like cycling along Erhai Lake. Autumn provides clear skies and mild conditions, superb for exploring the local villages and enjoying the scenic landscapes. For travellers who enjoy comfortable weather for outdoor activities, spring is particularly good. You can cycle around Erhai Lake or take a boat trip when the scenery is at its most vibrant. The temperatures are mild, usually ranging from 15°C to 25°C, which is excellent for exploring without feeling too hot or cold. Couples looking for a romantic getaway often find autumn appealing. The clear, crisp air and beautiful views across Erhai Lake create a lovely setting for strolls and relaxing evenings.

The Windyard Kazan Onsen Hotel-Private Hot Spring Bathtub close to South Gate of Dali Ancient Town

8/10 Good

"It was a good stay for us, the room was clean, staff very friendly, but if you are a non smoker, there's second hand smoke in the breakfast area or common areas, which is typical of most properties as the staff smoke. The breakfast is suited for Chinese travelers, so if you are accustomed to a western style breakfast, you won't find it here."

SIXI GOLDEN SUNRISE SOUND SLEEP HOTEL

8/10 Good

"The hotel was very clean and the gentleman working behind the front desk was very friendly and tried his very best to help with questions we had about traveling around Dali. The hotel is right in the middle of Dali Ancient City, so if that's what you want the location is excellent. It's a bit of a ride to the train station, but Didi's are very affordable. The hotel is very hard to find and the translation for the name of the hotel from English to Mandarin doesn't give the right name of the hotel. It took us awhile to find the hotel and even our DiDi driver from the airport didn't know the name of the hotel, somehow we found it. It's a small boutique hotel with clean rooms, comfortable bed, and breakfast made to order. Overall it was a good stay for the price."
