We had a lovely stay here. Full amenities, air-conditioned rooms, direct access to the private beach, and walking distance to cute shops and restaurants. This was a perfect place to enjoy our time in Play Flamingo.
This unit is a gem. it has a wonderful view of the water and is steps away from a secluded, very private small beach. Flamingo beach, shops and places to eat are in easy walking distance. A/C unit is very effective and keeps the place cool even on hot days. Five stars for sure.
Great view and well appointed kitchen .. very clean … parking directions not clear .. google led us to parking lot on another street … need to make it clear parking is on end of street where marina is located …. Suggest providing beach chairs … water clear and warm …
Pro:
Nice, safe development with semi-private beach
Beach is relatively calm - generally no big waves
Spacious unit with nice view of trees and bay
Great balcony space
BBQ on balcony
Con:
There was a red ant problem when we were there in dec 2023 - outside on entry deck and inside the unit
As noted in other reviews, bit of a struggle to carry cases across grassed area and up one flight of stairs to unit
Unit is not very well maintained - guest sink plug sticks and you can't undo it, rubber edging coming off shower door, toilet in guest bath running

If you like being close to the beach….
Don’t hesitate to ask the security guard to show you to the door. Much easier than trying to find it on your own. Security guard was very friendly and happy to help. Getting your luggage to the condo is a bit of a chore, but once you’re settled in, it’s worth it. Condo is well appointed and accommodating. You’re only steps away from a beautiful, quiet beach. You can also take a short walk to all the amenities that Flamingo has to offer. The condo property is quiet and safe with 24 hour security.
While the location of the condo/ocean view was great, communication with Vacasa staff was poor. One of the toilets wasn’t working and it took them 4 days to repair.
We enjoyed our stay. The communication was excellent and the property was for the most part quite good. There is no easy access to the unit. It is only accessible via a walk across unpaved terrain. Given the amount of rain, we in reality had to deal with wet, slippery grass and slopes with mud. This made it challenging to get luggage to the unit. The master bedroom had a bedside lamp that doesn’t work. We were unable to turn on the deck fan for mosquito abatement. The kitchen was very sparsely equipped but manageable. There was no instructions regarding local amenities such as grocery stores, etc. The sound of the waves is a huge luxury. The secluded beach and beautiful location will be remembered for a long while.

Know what you are getting
Beautiful beachfront location with a stunning private beach only 16 steps down and across the lawn. Access to the condo is a problem. There are two ways to access the condo. One is down 68 steps through a complex maze through a condo complex in renovation. The other is to walk through 3 other condos, down a narrow passageway, and across a lawn, then up a short but steep grassy, slippery slope and finally up 16 steps. (With your luggage!) The price might seem like a bargain for beachfront, but this is why. It may be fine for you. It was not for us, but thankfully the company sent help for us to get out on the last day. I was very unhappy that this was not disclosed in the VRBO ad. And when I asked for information before booking, I was just told “it’s on the second floor.” A video showing me the path from parking was sent 15 minutes before check in time. The terrace is lovely and we spent most of our time there. Other reviews will describe the unit which was adequate for our needs. It needs new skillets very badly. It’s a little dark and dingy, and could use an update. And it’s a little buggy. From now on, I will read the reviews much more carefully. We didn’t explore the area very much as getting in and out of the condo plus trying to carry in groceries was just too challenging.

Too many repairs needed. Dishwasher and washer/dryer broken on arrival. As was sliding glass door lock. Toilets need replacing and bathrooms updated. Tile stained in 2nd bathroom, taps rusting and no stopper for sink. Contacted Vacasa host and only washer/dryer replaced. Poor communication. These items should not have been a surprise. Otherwise, lovely setting and view of ocean.
My husband and my niece and her husband had a wonderful two weeks vacation, location was perfect for a relaxing time. The food at Amigos Y Beer was amazing and would recommend trying this restaurant more than once. The view from the balcony was absolutely spectacular and private. The entrance into the condo was a bit challenging but the security guard directed us in the first time and after that, we had no problem. Yes you do have to drag your luggage across the grass, through a narrow walkway and up the stairs but the journey was well worth it once we arrived at the condo. We would recommend this location to anyone planning on visiting the area.

Great location, wonderful view
The semi-private beach in such a popular, developed location is rare. To be able to hear the ocean all night w/o the hubbub of many popular locations is great, and yet you can still drive a few mins, or walk 15, to wide open Flamingo beach. Hosts were available and friendly at all times. Once you arrive, getting your luggage to the unit is a little inconvenient, especially if you have large suitcases, but worth it, as you can then walk 100 paces down to the small private beach. Unit is well maintained, AC and WiFi worked great.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this property. The condo had everything we needed. Beach chairs, beach towels, coffee, iron, shampoo, hair conditioner and other miscellaneous items. The balcony looking over the beach was perfect. The views were stunning. Very quiet area as well. The location was also perfect. We did not have a car rental and cancelled our a golf cart reservation because we felt that a lot of places were walking distance. Playa Flamingo is right around the corner and so is the new Marina Flamingo. There is a really good coffee and bakery shop at the marina. Great restaurants nearby and on Monday nights from 6:00PM - 9:00PM there is Monday Moonlight Market. Also a short walk from the unit. The unit was very easy to get to from the Flamingo Marina Cove parking lot where our private driver dropped us off. It took us 1 minute and 30 seconds to get to the unit with our carry on cases and personal bags. We were very happy with our stay.

Gorgeous grounds and practically private beach. Be prepared for some inconveniences.
Pros: Incredible beach to swim at every day. No crowds.
Cool birds, and iguanas in the "backyard". You can hear the ocean from the condo, and the view out the back to the bay is simply stunning.
Close to some fantastic restaurants (highly recommend Amigo's Tacos Y Beer, La Cazuela Del Marisco, & Banana Wind at Margaritaville) and Playa Flamingo Beach if you like more waves and people watching.
Internet and Netflix both worked for us although we had to reset WiFi on our laptops every day.
Cons: Getting to the condo upon arrival was a fiasco. I had reached out over a week prior to the trip for assistance with airport transfer. Gustavo was so nice telling me he would help me, but didn't, and when we arrived we were on our own. We ended up getting a cab (it's about US$100 to get to Playa Flamingo from the Liberia airport) but it is not easy to find and if it weren't for accidentally running into the housekeeper at the top of the "resort" I would not have found it at all. I hadn't even known the resort I found her at was the one we were in; I was just trying to find WiFi in order to contact Gustavo. Fortunately she thought to ask me if I was in 413 and even though there was a language barrier, she was persistent and got us into our condo. Meantime (while I did not have access to internet in the cab) I had received a What's App and video from a different contact than Gustavo, (adding to the confusion) bringing me into the condo from a completely different entry point which of course I had no idea about at that time. So for future reference, have your driver take you to "Flamingo Marina Cove", and you can get to the condo from the bottom of the hill easier, (Vacasa will send you a video) but you still have to walk through an adjacent resort and the backyard lawn and it's convoluted finding it for the first time.
The condo is attached to a hotel/resort that even though is listed on Google Maps as a 4* Waterfront Hotel with Outdoor Dining, it is quite abandoned. There is a pool and hot tub that are still in working order with a fantastic view of Potrero Bay, but do not expect this to be a working resort. The tennis court was in bad shape, often with sitting water on it, the playground was overgrown and in disrepair, and there is no restaurant.
This condo sits on a steep hill and without access to parking, that means you have to walk up and down whenever you go to eat or shop. For us this was not a problem, we like the activity, but it is a hard walk.
The day we arrived there was loud banging in an adjacent condo, it sounded like there was construction going on. That came and went throughout our stay.
Two times we lost running water, once over 15 hours overnight. Little things like flooding from draining water from the kitchen sink, the ice maker not working, the guest bath toilet having to be flushed from inside the tank, a leak in the guest bath shower, and no knob on the clothes dryer were mostly just inconveniences. The A/C unit in the bedroom leaked onto the bed one day completely soaking the pillows on my side and I had to move to the guest room for two nights while it all dried out. (Maintenance the next day was great, and they attended to the other plumbing issues as well). The A/C in the living room would periodically go into E1 mode and stop working, then turn itself back on eventually.
Sadly, it was very difficult to sit on the back deck and enjoy being outside because of the mosquitos and other biting insects. We bought some Off but even using that, the buggers would find the spots we missed, so we couldn't spend much time on the incredible back deck enjoying the outdoors without getting bitten.
All that said, we absolutely loved our time in Costa Rica. We love the food, the people, the climate, the beauty, the wildlife. It's not uncommon to lose power, and getting places is much slower than many of us are used to because the infras...

Beautiful place to stay
Very comfortable place to stay, everything you need. We loved sitting out on the porch overlooking the beach. The property was a little aged and there are many stairs to get to the room, but overall we very much enjoyed it here.
The condo met all our needs for a beach vacation. Kids enjoyed the private beach, and the property was very well kept. The condo had everything we needed, and we were very comfortable. Would recommend for couples and families.

Check in needs some improvements
Great view of beach and access to and from unit. Good selection of utensils, beach accessories, and deck/patio furniture. Not enough explanation of how to get to unit or what’s included with this unit in other amenities. A few other details that could use improvement includes: a/c units were intermittent on their operation, no light in stairwell, no explanation on use of safe box, no explanation of what services and restaurants were in the area. Lack of parking, had to walk on the grass to get from parking area to unit which is a little difficult when you have large luggage

Awesome place and fantastic beach!
The place is amazing. Great views and close walk to the beach. The beach is beautiful and nearly private. The unit is clean and well supplied. Parking is a bit of a walk to and from the unit. Gustavo was wonderful and quick to respond and very helpful.
