When I received the check-in details I was advised that the room that I had booked had no on site parking and I would have to park on the street. As I was travelling between Melbourne and Brisbane with a carload of expensive sailing gear this was the scenario that I had been trying to avoid. False advertising so be aware, only some units have designated on site parking, others do not!!! I feel prospective customers should be informed of such things prior to making the decision to rent. Lovely place, but could do with a little TLC. Just small things, but when you are paying these sorts of prices, I believe it's important that the small things are taken care of. Another concern was our 'complementary toiletries' were not new. A couple of the tubes had already had the protective seal removed. This led me to believe it was used by previous guests, and reused. Those little touches and attention to detail is the difference between 3-4\* to 5\*. I would probably chose to stay somewhere else if we go back to Byron Bay. On a positive note, the location was fantastic, with direct access to the beach. We did have to walk across an unused train line, and then thick scrub (well worn path though), which was a little scary!!! My partner and myself stayed here for 4 nights in the "gypsy" studio. The room had everything we needed, the space is used extremely efficiently. The pool is heated and well cleaned, the beach is a stones throw away. It's only a 5 minute walk into the heart of byron yet next to the quieter end of the beach.
