"I couldn’t figure out how to get the air conditioner to work but thankfully it wasn’t too hot and I left the windows cracked open during the night for cool air. I’m sure it was my user error & wouldn’t count this as a negative for the hotel. It was clean, quiet, comfortable and in a great location. Highly recommend and I’d definitely stay again! "

"Deserves its rating. Other than the breakfast buffet, I ate in the dining room only once so can't comment on the food. The breakfast was sumptuous. Friendly staff; lush, semi-tropical, five-star grounds; pool, spa, all appointed beautifully. Tucked away from traffic but very centrally located, the neighborhood is wonderfully quiet! As five-start implies, it is expensive but provides everything you could want for a meeting or getaway."

"Castel Rundegg is an old fashioned hotel in the very best sense. It is a beautiful building in a most beautiful town, with comfortable public areas and spacious well appointed bedrooms. Those who are looking for discos and fast food options might choose elsewhere, but it does offer superb cuisine, stunning gardens and an old world elegance. It also boasts extensive pool, sauna and spa treatments. We look forward to returning there."

"If you are planning to visit Merano this is the place to stay. It is a family run hotel and nothing is too much trouble. All the staff are friendly and helpful. We first stayed there two years ago and it was great but since then it has had a major renovation and it is even better now. We were upgraded to a Garden Suite which had a fantastic view over the great pool area to the mountains. There is a good choice including cook to order egg dishes at breakfast and the included afternoon cake...

"Great staff with attention to every detail. The owner is kind and truly seems to want everybody to enjoy their time in his hotel. The maître d’ watches over every meal very carefully, it is extremely knowledgeable about wine, and set a great tone. The staff was without exception extremely friendly and very good at what they were doing. Very pleasant atmosphere and good value! I recommend that if you stay here you also eat your evening meals in the restaurant. We found local restaurants not all...
