We have stopped overnight at the Tradesmans arms in Scorriton before and have not been disappointed. The location is isolated in a delightful small village with stunning views. The accommodation, food and hospitality is really good. The atmosphere created by the many local residents when the pub is open supporting the business says it all.

Comfortable, friendly and well worth a visit.
My wife and I were given a warm welcome and we were shown to our room. We were not disappointed. Freshly decorated, lovely TV set, comfortable beds, newly fitted-out bathroom. The evening meal and beer was very good and we enjoyed being made to feel like a local. Very quiet location, with a country setting but not far from the main roads. The breakfast was very good. A small pointer for the future would be to put the toast on a separate plate.

We like the Tradesman’s
Our 3rd stay- obviously we like it. Position perfect for walks on the Moor - directly on the Two Moors Way. Evening menu including Specials gave an excellent choice. Full breakfast very good with cereals followed by full english. We did, however, have to ask for fruit juice .The farm next door sells excellent real Devon clotted cream.

Pleasant stay, comfortable bed and spotless bedding, breakfast ok, service ok, appreciated being able to take our dog. Mostly clean and pleasant decor in bedroom/bathroom. Tea tray was ok , kettle disgustingly filthy on the outside. Didn’t use it. A few essentials missing - hand towels - only one provided between 2 - towel rail - full length mirror - ‘smiles’ from the owners!

Nestling in the national park with incredible views, this is a little gem. We had a warm welcome and the accommodation was just what we needed and it’s very dog friendly.

Very disappointing but apparently improvements are
Fabulous location Beautiful views from dining area and garden As bed and breakfast guests, a very very disappointing experience. Hospitality was missing - we were not looked after and had to keep asking for basics. There was not one hook, rail, cupboard or wardrobe in our room - for a 3 night stay (in August when I'd booked room in January ). No bin in bedroom. No bathmat next to shower. Breakfast was the meanest ever. Two mornings we weren't offered cereal, we had to ask for toast, there was no jam or fruit or yoghurt. Apparently they intend to refurbish, but the issue is their cluelessness about service and Hospitality.

Everything was easy, smooth and hassle free from the moment I arrived until I left. The evening meal was very good, the beer, a local brew, was excellent. The room was comfortable and quiet with everything provided. Breakfast was very good. Yes, I do recommend it and would definitely visit again.

Every aspect was ideal
Very clear precautions set out for safety, but this does not impact the great service and friendliness we we shown. The food was amazing with huge portions and the drinks very well priced. The view was great and the room was spacious, comfy and spotless. The bathroom was also great with a very nice shower, again it was spotless. I will gladly return

The restaurant was a bit chilly, and the room fairly small. However, given the price these are very minor issues. The owners were friendly, the service excellent, and the pub food of good quality. We enjoyed our stay greatly and would happily book again.

Best Prt of the Trip
We were welcomed in the car park and taken straight in, this was great as the weather was not it’s best. Shown our room, we were given a very warm welcome and they had even reserved us a table for dinner which we were so grateful for. Dinner was fab proper pub grub and the local Dartmoor gin they had was so tasty. Bedroom great size and bedroom. Full cooked breakfast in the morning host was great, breakfast very tasty. Also don’t forget the fabulous views over the Dartmoor National Park are beautiful. We will be booking again. Thanks

The family suite was great-very spacious. Nice food and lovely views. A bit stressful with our three year old though-the staff were worried about him touching things due to Covid-19.

Warm welcome, clean rooms and run by a very helpful couple. A good selection of ale and good inexpensive food - it was pie night when we arrived and we both really enjoyed our meals !!
