Great central location

Posted 15-Apr-2016
Pros: Friendly welcome, great location, cleanliness, breakfast, twin beds but very comfortable.
Cons: Slightly dated room and en suite but didn't taint the stay.
Location: You couldn't get a more central location to the market, belfry, and bars and restaurants.
A lovely period hotel that is great value. We had a very warm welcome from the family run hotel with great local knowledge as an added extra. The included continental breakfast was amazing with cheese, meat, pate, eggs, cereal etc to start the day off. The room was spacious, clean and made daily.

Très bonne adresse

Posted 04-Jan-2016 on Ebookers

Just a stone's throw from just about everything!

The hotel was just about perfect. We always look for the hotels that have the "flavor" of the location. This one passed with flying colors. Most hotels are going for the Urban Contemporary look and feel. This one was a pleasant surprise; it had all of the modern conveniences yet held on to its historic Old World feel.

Not a bad hotel but beware of the quoted rates

Posted 26-Oct-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Visibility of room differences
Beware of the rate you are quoted and what you get for that rate. We booked through Expedia based on a 'special member's only rate'only to find that the rate we were charged was actually the rack rate for the room. Also the rooms vary significantly in that we booked two rooms both for the same rate only to find that one of the rooms was half the size of the other, the smaller not being big enough to swing a cat in. Be sure you are not in room 6 as it is very small with minimal natural light (it only has a very small window) and is on the top floor with no lift. When i queried the front desk as to why we were being charged the same rate for both rooms the response I received was that 'that is correct' with no further explanation. While this would not be an issue for everyone, be aware that the hotel has no lift and narrow stairs and the parking is quite a distance from the hotel in a public carpark. Otherwise, the hotel is in a great location, the breakfast is good and for the most part the staff were very accommodating.

Very good location, value for money

We arrived quite late after a stop at Brussels but Frank was great and warm and even lent me the mobile phone charger as I forgot to bring mine. Very good location, lovely buffet style breakfast, very clean hotel. I would strongly recommend this hotel to stay in Bruges and if I would to visit again, I will come back to this hotel. In general bruges is not cheap for hotel and restaurant but this one is good!!

Fabulous week in Bruges

Posted 28-Aug-2015 on Hotels
This is a lovely small hotel centrally located in the heart of Bruges enabling all the major sites to be easily reached on foot. The rooms are large and basic but still comfortable. We occupied 4 rooms and everyone would be happy to stay at the hotel again. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Our only real criticism is that because our room faced out onto the street we were unable to have our window open due to traffic noise from the cobbled street below. All our other family members had rooms facing the courtyard so did not have any noise problems.
