Everything is walkable and the dining options are endless. You will of course only eat at the Kafee of Gran Hotel de Passage as the food is worthy of any fine dining establishment. The Chicken vol Au Vent was perhaps one of the finest meals I have ever eaten (I wish I could get the recipe). The staff were unflinchingly polite, professional and helpful. My only negative feedback would be that the AC in my room did not appear to work as I could not turn it on, but I am sure that is easily solved and the windows in the room provided ample fresh air when open. The beds are OK but the rooms are smaller than it looks on the pictures. The room we stayed in had a tiny bathroom (toilet) where the door would hit the knees. The heating is electric and only works when your key card is in the room so we were very cold when we came back in the evening and tried to go to sleep. There is no water or tea or coffee anywhere. The restaurant downstairs is not open in the morning. Emil, the host, was totally amazing and went out of his way to help us find a place to dine on our first night as the onsite restaurant was closed. He also directed us to a local trappist bar woth an amazing selection of Trapoist style beers. We dined at hotels restaurant on our second night and I am glad we made reservations. The place was packed, and lots of locals were dining here - a testament to the quality of the good. The Flemmish stew was mouthwateringly delicious. Breakfast was by candlelight, and was a traditional europsan breakfast. There is a parkibg garage right across the street, just be careful as its crowded and some of the parking spots are tight. Bruges is an amazing city to visit, highly walkable, and felt very safe. Would definitely return to this hotel. Only downside though, if you are mobility challenged, there is no elevator. Rooms were a very nice size.
