When you first pull up, the car park throws your off a bit. The landscape and surroundings are beautiful. The main building is lovely, but a little bit of updating would go a long way. Inside, the bar area has been refurbished but the awesome lighting and seating appear a bit out of place. The room we stayed in was off the main building. It was a bit small, but was fine for us. The heating in the room was a bit too good as we woke up at around 3am and had to open the door to let fresh air in as the room felt like we were on the equator. We turned it down, but it didn't go down enough for the room to be comfortable. The bathroom was large and was more of a wet room. It was lovely, but personally I prefer a curtain to the shower for some privacy. Dinner at the restaurant was great! I ordered my steak medium and it was medium. Normally medium means overcooked, but this place cooked it just right! Dinner receives 6* out of 5. We don't normally do breakfasts, but as it was included we decided to check it out. The continental breakfast was ok. My husband ordered something off the pay menu, a sandwich with bacon. It was 2 pieces of bread and 2 rashers... a bit of a waste of money. We both expected a lovely sandwich after such an amazing dinner! Overall, would stay here again!
