The Space:
Steeped in history and full of character, The Forge is a charming 17th-century retreat in the Somerset village of Marksbury. Originally built in the 1600s as the blacksmith's forge for the adjoining house, it once played an important role in village life, shoeing horses passing through the area. Today, it offers a unique blend of heritage and modern comfort.
Just a two-minute walk from beautiful countryside trails across the rolling Somerset hills, it's perfectly positioned for those looking to explore the great outdoors.
Inside, the heart of the home is the bright open-plan kitchen, dining and living space. An impressive vaulted ceiling and substantial original beams create a striking first impression, while the comfortable seating area with smart TV provides a cosy place to unwind after a day of adventure. The well-equipped kitchen has everything needed for preparing meals at home.
Also on the ground floor is a spacious double bedroom with ample clothing storage, alongside a shower room with WC. This layout means guests can enjoy a comfortable stay without needing to use the stairs, unless making use of the mezzanine.
Upstairs, a quirky mezzanine level features a twin trundle bed and two desks, making it a versatile space for children, extra guests or those needing to catch up on work during their stay.
Outside, a small seating area with a bench offers the perfect spot for a morning coffee or evening drink. With private parking and dogs warmly welcomed, The Forge is a characterful countryside escape for couples, families and four-legged friends alike.

Guests will have private access to the Forge.
