This seemed like a good location and a nice upmarket looking flat, with quality amenities and furnishings from the advert.
We were shocked when we arrived to find the front of the property piled high with garbage. Bags, open food waste, open bins. It smelled horrendous. It was also over 30 degrees C. We were supposed to be in the upper flat, but had been assigned the ground floor flat, whose windows were located over the garbage. The only windows. No air con. No fan inside. It was dark (heavily frosted front window as ground floor) and smelt of the refuse outside. Flies piled in the access corridor. The inside was not nearly as nice as the pictures. Everything seemed a facade rather than the more upmarket flat depicted in the photos online.
Due to the change of flat position, the heat and the smell, I called the letting company immediately. This was late afternoon on Friday, and Kudos to the company, they were sympathetic, said that they didn’t know when the refuse would be removed as it was down to the landlord, apologised for the change of flat position. They had another property not far away which they moved us to. The new place seemed more like student accommodation or NHS accommodation, but it was clean. So thank you to the letting company but I cannot it good faith do anything but advise people not to book this listed accommodation unless the garbage situation is clarified.
