Nice place very friendly staff.
No Air conditioning so I suspect in the middle of summer it would be very hot upstairs. It does have fans but I still doubt that would be enough in summer. Perfect in April as its not too hot.

Absolutely loved the ocean view from the top balcony, will return in whale season. Unit had everything you needed especially in the full sized kitchen. No complaints at all but you do need a car to get to all places. Two nights was not enough. Thanks

Great place to stay at in Point Lookout
Everything was great. The cabin is well equipped and the view is amazing. Close to beach and shops. Will come back at Pandanus as soon as I have a chance. Recommended!!

Didn't get conformation from Expedia .no emails or texts so i assumed i didn't book. I booked another hotel for the exact same time through Expedia and they charged me for both, even though i never stayed at Pandanus. Ripped off by Expedia again. Ill never use them again.

OK but some disappointments
Villa was quite spacious and comfortable. Interior wasn't new but it was clean & well maintained. On the other hand, I was disappointed in the view. The photos on the site must have been taken from villas in the front row. One could see the water from our villa but it was through a gap between buildings & then only from the (upstairs) main bedroom. Also, as others have noted, the Internet is poor. Basically you only get, at most, 1 hour of access. Seems just mean really.

Thank you for your review. The villa you booked was an Ocean View villa and overlooks the roofs of the Beach & Ocean View villas and so you only get a view from upstairs. Photos of both types of villas are shown. The Beach & Ocean View villas are a little more than the Ocean View villas. NBN is being put through on the island at the end of the year so hopefully that will improve things. There is the option to purchase more internet for $2.00 a day or $6.00 a week if you want more. We hope to see you again.

Very in need of upgrade in unit. Very uncomfortable lounge chairs worn out. Bed not up to scratch. One toilet only and upstairs not too good for older people. Just tired kitchen capitals not closing etc.

Great property with everything we needed. A thorough clean would be beneficial as it didn’t feel as fresh as it should have. Restaurant Was great. Exceptional food and wonderful cocktails overlooking an amazing view of the ocean.

I booked this thru Expedia, PANDANUS Palms Holiday Resort, when I phoned a couple of days before just to check all was fine, I found out that I was NOT booked at the resort even though I had booked thru there web page, I had a confirmation email saying I was at PANDANUS Palms resort, their answer to this was "Oh its a unit next door but we could not put that on the Web site" So no we had no advertised amenities, no access to Pool, Oh we could go spend our money in the Restaurant, was very disappointed and will never stay again, the unit was dirty. Can't understand how Expedia can have this misleading advertising on their site either. - by this time there was not way to book elsewhere.

Thank you for your review. The apartment you booked is an outside rental. Pandanus Palms manages this apartment however the property is described as 8th on Roseby not part of Pandanus Palms. The facilities of the resort are not available for guests of 8th on Roseby. The restaurant is open to the general public. I'm sorry if you feel you were misled.

Disappointing accommodations. “Free WiFi” is free for one hour a day (or 250 Mb), but you can buy more time/data at the office. You’re provided with two rubbish bags and minimal toilet paper. Similarly, minimal cleaning products like dish and hand soaps are provided, but you can buy more of all of these items at the office. Do you see a pattern? Our unit had no Air Con, and was in tough shape (finish worn off the hardwood floors, peeling paint, scuffed walls, etc). The weekend was full of construction noise from the in-progress weekend warrior renovation of the unit across the courtyard. The units are very close together, and with no Air Con, everyone has their windows and doors open, resulting in disturbing noise from the neighbors’ events. Parking is also a bear (narrow carport stalls which aren’t very close to the units). The good: the pool, albeit small, was enjoyed by the kids. Also, the taste of the food offerings at on-site restaurant, Whales Way, as well as the service, was great! We’d recommend going for the early bird menu, and make sure you get the cured meat plate as a starter.

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed with your stay. The WiFi is only $2.00 for a day or $6.00 for the week. The free hour is usually enough to check emails and we find many people have their own for anything more. As for the amenities, we provide a starter pack. You are welcome to bring your own or purchase from the local supermarket. You certainly do not have to purchase from us. None of our villas have air conditioning but do have ceiling or pedestal fans and usually a nice sea breeze. The works being performed were from a tradesman from the mainland and, whilst we prefer no work to be carried out on weekends, sometimes it is unavoidable. Once again, I am sorry you were disappointed in your accommodation.

Thank you for your review. None of our villas have air-conditioning but we usually get a lovely sea breeze. I'm not sure why you felt the layout was not suitable for children. We like to think we are a family friendly complex. Perhaps it was the internal stairs?

Not sure what the definition of “resort” means in Australia but, I expected a place that supplies the basic such as toiletries and linen and has a daily cleaning service. I ordered a baby cot and on arrival noticed this wasn’t assembled as requested and a mattress was not provided so, when asked staff they were not helpful in providing a solution and I ended up improvising with some blankets and doonas to create more padding for my baby. I wasn’t happy with that as I paid extra for the cot. We ran out of toilet paper and “resort” did not want to provide more. Seriously I’m expected to travel with toilet paper in my bag when staying at a resort? Same with dishwasher pouches, etc. I guess they only provide a starter pack. Furniture was old and beds uncomfortable. View was great! Laundry and 2 outdoor lines great! Easy access and nice breeze.

Thank you for taking the time to provide a review of your stay. As advised, we do provide a starter pack only and further items can be purchased from the local supermarket. The cot provided is a porta-cot and the mattress is what comes with the cot. We do not assemble the cots as we are not sure where guests would like them. Villas are cleaned and fresh linen provided if guests stay more than 7 days. I'm sorry your stay was not up to your expectations. We are currently in the process of upgrading villas.

Lovely Location
A beautiful area to visit. The apartment had spacious living areas and a great kitchen. All the apartments have views of the ocean and it is a peaceful area. As a group of 3 friends we really enjoyed our stay. The only downside was that the second bedroom had bunk beds rather than the twin beds I saw in the photos online, so if this wouldn't suit you either be sure to contact the resort before you arrive. Overall a great spot to relax and explore the island.

Unpleasent stay
This place looks good from outside. But no ceiling fans, no aircon, dirty pedal fans, very small toilet which is not suitable for a oversized person, dirty & rusty showers, all fly screens' lock faulty, lounge is hard like a rock. This place is being advertised as self contained resort, but they only provide one role of toilet paper, 3 mini soaps and no shampoos. I stayed there for 5 days and I had to buy dishwashing tablets, soap, shampoo and toilet rolls from shop. Couldn't sleep due to hot weather and couldn't use the dirty fans. Couldn't open the doors due to the fly screens unable to lock. Dryer was not working and reception said they will get an electrician to check it, but nothing happened during my stay. However, this place is close to beach and you can see little bit of ocean from the balcony.

Dear Suresh. Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. I'm sorry it was up to your expectations. As advised, you are supplied with a starter pack only of soap, toilet paper etc. The owner has advised they are coming to stay for the whole of May in order to rectify some maintenance issues. An electrician has been and checked the dryer. He found it irreparable and a new one is on the way. I did offer to dry your clothes however you chose to use the clothes line. I would have been more than happy to dry your clothes should you have required it. Once again I am sorry your stay was not all you expected.

It was hot...
It was hot week and there are no Air-con or ceiling fans at our apartment.. they had two standing fans but wasn’t cool enough for all of us.. also all the units are 2 stories. It wasn’t safe for our 1.5year old daughter. But Pool was great and manager was kind and helpful. And restaurant in this resort was great !!!

Good location centre of everything
We spent 4 nights at Pandanus Palms. The highlights were having our own BBQ, the accomodation was spacious, in a 2 bed, 1 bathroom unit. There was ample parking also and it was in the perfect location across from cylinders beach and just off the 4wd track to main beach. The only thing that was a problem was having 1 toilet for 5 people otherwise it was great.

Staff very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the food at the restaurant too. The kitchen had plenty of cups, glasses, plates etc and there was lots of comfortable seating available. The apartment, front and back yards we had looked tired and old and matched some of the vintage kitchen equipment. Everything we tried in the kitchen did work though in spite of its age. The tiled floors were probably cleaned but not scrubbed therefore the black deposits came off on your feet when wet.

As with many time share apartments we have stayed in this resort just coasts along. The bare minimum provided in the apartment we stayed in. Cleaning in the kitchen could have been better. Did not engage with any staff member in our 4 day stay so cannot rate.

BEAUTIFUL VIEWS
These units aren't air conditioned which I was concerned about being mid Summer, but we had an amazing relaxing 3 day stay. It took us a day to wind down but we did make the most of and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful beaches, wildlife, nature in its finest ! Straddie has just got to be a slice of heaven it is absolutely beautiful. Whales Way cocktail bar and restaurant even better.

Amazing view and food
A relaxed hotel, with a great view! Food at the whales way was fantastic. Rooms are neat but dated, however it didn't impact on stay. There was no washing machine detergent and they were very stingy with t towels and dish washer detergent, considering that you need to have the place clean allowing a packet per night stay would not be ungenerous. It wasn't walking distance to beach, but the view made up for it, and most similar places aren't either. It let you choose the right beach for the conditions

A good 4 day holiday
The hotel was very good with all the usual,ie pool, tennis court, restaurant.The restaurant was closed in the early part of the week and opens wednesday to sunday.( If I remember correctly).I must make a comment about the food..It was great. My wife and I were both very impressed by the quality,which was different than we had experienced at other places on Stradbroke Island.

Room was nice but run down needs a lot of maintenance, verandah nails poking out hard on feet, windows hard to slide, shower head was leaking and hard no pressure for a decent shower but the also wasn't the room which the pictures were takin from (the front units along the grassed area) which was a bit of false advertising in my eyes but overall it was a quiet place to relax and enjoy....

Excellent resort, close to Point Lookout beaches.
This is a really great, well-priced resort. Our unit was clean, well appointed and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Not the newest, but more than exceeded our expectations. The resort management were friendly and helpful. It is really hard to fault this place.

We found the hotel to be in a great location where we had wonderful views of the whales from our deck each morning. The unit was good and had everything we needed, the only thing I would say is that it could use a little freshen up (looked a little tired). Overall though we would definitely come back!

When we arrived from the ferry we were directed to the carpark then the room to find it was locked at the entrance we were directed to. I didn't know the room had two entrance points so had to call after hours person to let us in. The fridge was very noisy - they had apparently had a new fan put into it recently but made no difference. The BBQ gas bottle ran out during our second use part way through cooking dinner. Adjoining door to main bedroom couldn't be opened once shut from the inside and the sliding door to the ensuite bathroom was unable to be slid easily - very stuck. There were holes in the walls where the towel railings had been moved and sand all over the floor on arrival. Also our children found a booger in the bed they were in. When we reported these things on check out (we were given a late checkout due to the noisy fridge so were grateful) the person attending to our departure seemed nonplussed at the information we gave except by saying we could have requested a new one to be delivered to the room. We also found it disappointing that we have to pay for extra toilet paper, garbage bags, detergent and dishwasher tablets (we were there for 3 nights and there were only 2 tablets given to us) as these are things we wouldn't normally travel with.

We all loved the resort. Could of stared at that view all day. Had kangaroos in the backyard.
