An Irish Idyll - traditional stonewall cottage nestled in hills above Downings

An Irish Idyll - traditional stonewall cottage nestled in hills above Downings

10/10 Excellent
"My oh my. This wee cottage was better than I had hoped for. Simple in standing but plentiful in charm, the owner has done a wonderful job in not overcomplicating the property. It had everything we needed for our short break - but it is the spectacular setting with utterly incredible views that really sets this property apart. The heavy clouds in the ever changing sky, the absolute silence and the cool breeze - when it feels like the rest of Europe is burning - all lent themselves to a reset. It was breathtaking. Thank you so much for sharing your cottage William. We loved it."

8/10 Good
"Great hotel. In center of town. Breakfast delicious. Enjoyed our 2 night stay; but as our room, 32, was directly above a loading bay, the noise early each morning was V loud, to be honest. We also had no seaview, which was on our booking. We will use this hotel again. Just not room 32 ..."

Dál Riada B&B

Dál Riada B&B

10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful BnB. Room was imaculate, Noreen couldnt do enough for us. Breakfast was fantastic as well, we ate breakfast in the conservatory looking out at the sea view which I could have sat and looked at all day. Port Arthur beach is a straight 5min drive 15min walk away, beautiful spot to sit on the beach or get in the water and not very busy so plenty of room. Plenty to do within driving distance and the food options in the area were great. If you do geocaching there are some great cache locations that have amazing views in the area that bring you to some hidden historical/foclore spots too."
