We stayed at Paskins Townhouse, booked through Expedia. The arrival and check-in process was smooth and welcoming, however the condition of the room was very disappointing.
On entering the room, it was clear it had not been properly cleaned or dusted for a long time. Surfaces appeared neglected and there was visible dust throughout. The curtains were in particularly poor condition, with clear mould and damp patches present.
This was especially concerning as we were travelling with a child who has asthma. The presence of mould and damp made the room feel unsuitable and potentially unsafe for anyone with respiratory conditions.
While the booking and arrival experience through Expedia and the hotel check-in itself were fine, the standard of cleanliness in the room fell far below what we expected. We hope this is addressed, as it significantly impacted our stay.
The room was clean, the staff were really helpful. Charlotte was super helpful and lovely. The single room felt homely. The bathroom was very clean. It was nice and quiet which was exactly what I needed. The bedding was soft and comfortable. The only thing I'd say is the mattress was very springy and dipped in the middle so I think a new mattress may be better. Apart from that it was lovely and I definitely would stay here again. Thank you so much
Honestly felt I might have been taking a bit of a risk booking a room at the price I paid for my stay as a woman travelling on her own but found the room to be peaceful and well kitted out and the staff really lovely and helpful.
The area is terrific and was only a few minutes walk from the event I had come to attend.
Thanks so much folks!
Clean and updated room and furnishings in an original style. Good access to the town, seafront and local eateries.
Our room would not have been suitable for individuals with mobility issues, but I seem to remember that was in the hotel blurb. It wasn't a problem for us.
It was a lovely room, the staff were very helpful and friendly. We loved the decor as well.
The hotel was also very well located, being close to the town and within walking distance from the sea.
We would like to have stayed longer.
Everything was clean and tidy. A quaint room on the top floor. A very warm welcome from Charlotte of Charlotte Street. I think in all my years of staying in the UK going to many gigs Charlotte has to be the most genuinely friendly and most beautiful person I have met. Only one minor thing the shower didn’t have much power. I have just changed a booking to stay there next time I’m in Brighton. You also get discounts at local eateries
Great value stay and such a friendly service. Also a ideal location within walking distance of the station and very close to the sea front.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The staff were very helpful and kind.
The room worked since it was a quick stay for us but I wouldn't stay longer than two nights.
The room was very small and no elevator which is fine since we are able bodied. The bathroom smelt muggy which wasn't great and our window opened up but onto a dark courtyard with a lot of pigeons.
That being said there are many other rooms and the experience could be very different in them.
It was a lovely place, clean and tastefully and warmly decorated. Perfectly located, so close to the sea. I very much enjoyed my stay here. A charming place.
This was great value and a perfect weekend stay. So close to the beach, shops and restaurants and walkable from Brighton station. Great service at check-in and everything you need in the room. Thanks for a great stay!
