Fantastic lodge, clean, warm and quiet. Quick replies to questions. You don't need to message about parking or a code to get in. Wait for a email an hour after booking.
If booking at short notice your name won't be on the room list so you have to phone them. Only downside.
Fridge and microwave with cutlery downstairs.
Does just what it says. Not a luxury hotel, just a comfortable, clean place to stay. Excellent value for money.

NO BREAKFAST :(
Clean and comfortable room. Booked 2 nights bed and breakfast through hotels.com Note in bedroom giving times of breakfast. Came down in the morning, no breakfast and no sign of anyone. Rang the number on our booking to be told aggressively "I don't do breakfast and hotels.com got it wrong. I am not giving you a refund!" I pointed out I hadn't asked for a refund just some breakfast. She told me to take it up with hotels.com - I did and spent over an hour on the chat line with an agent and never had any response. The owner of Boston Lodge then rang me back to tell me "Anyway you only booked for a single person and our son turned up with his girlfriend, you haven't paid for her!" Wow! I pointed out very calmly that I had indeed paid for a double room for 2 people bed and breakfast... "hang on..... oh yes, it was somebody else not you. Go and check with Expedia about your breakfast"
Hmmm... not exactly the customer service one would expect and will certainly not use again - the Travel Lodge would have been better - at least we could have got a cereal bar from the petrol station. We had been expecting a lovely cooked breakfast - and just got told off for asking.

There was an error on Hotels.com web site. and breakfast was never available.
even before this booking was made.
After an inauspicious start, this was a good stopover. We received a text with the number of the key box which enabled us to enter the property, but inside there was no note to tell us the room number. We rang a mobile number but it was poor reception & the person on the end of the line wasn’t sure which room we were to be in.
When the room was sorted out it was comfortable & clean ( apart from behind the unit housing tea/ coffee). The shower was in the room & everything was ok. It was good value, although breakfast was offered online & we were told to be sure & fill in the breakfast list, there was no list! We left and got breakfast on our way. We never saw anyone the whole time.

as per instructions when booking no breakfast is available at this time
I arrived to a note on the door. Please call this number. After pushing the camera doorbell and it not being answered I then called the number which went to voice mail. I find this to be a very unwelcome start to any stay.
First impressions are everything to me.
The call was returned about 15 minutes later but by then I had already decided not to stay.
Sorry guys you could do a lot better.
I won't be staying with you again

When you sent a text message that you were at the door .I came straight out.
You didn't wait at the door.
I then spoke to you telling you that I had left you room key on the dinning table.
you said that you would be coming straight back
You didn't give me chance to come to the door.
I have checked the camera on the door bell you arrived at 17:17 and I called you at 17:19 that was 2 minutes later
So I don't feel that this review is a true reflection

WiFi wasn’t working but was late to ask to solve it . Very clean and tidy, lovely breakfast.
We arrived late a quick phone call and we were let in given our key and explained what to do with breakfast. Our room was large and spacious and a big bathroom. The beds were really comfy. The breakfast was fresh and hot. Overall a really lovely B&B and wouldn’t be disappointed if stay there. Lovely friendly people clean tidy room.
Easy self service check in. Room was very welcoming, immaculately clean. Everything one could want for a B&B is available. Breakfast was ideal too with a good variety of cereals available and the cooked breakfast was delicious. A Hotel Inspector would be proud to stay here.
The lodge was very nice,clean,and the beds were comfortable, special thanks to the very pleasant lady that did the breakfasts, we would deffinately stay there again

Basic, you got what you paid for
Not my choice of somewhere to stay but my company booked it at short notice.
Overpowering smell of air fresher in the room made me feel sick after a while.

We are basic Bed and breakfast. That’s why we are priced accordingly.
We provide and friendly service and clean room and a great breakfast
Our stay at Boston lodge was lovely , lovely bedroom , fantastic breakfast and great friendly host , would definitely go back ,exceptional value for money
No-one to greet on arrival and had to look for room and room key ourselves. Basic comfortable room, with broken leg on single bed. Good stock of tea/coffee and extra blankets.
Biggest problem was the room was below a flat and the floorboards were very squeaky, which made it difficult to get to sleep!
Breakfast was great and impressed with the breakfast order sheet left out the night before.
Note on front door to say let yourself in. Picked up key from table inside to room and had to order breakfast night before.
Room was clean, bathroom was dated and noise from adjoining rooms doors as they kept coming in and out.
Breakfast - had ordered bacon egg and tomato but told no tomato by lady that was looking after place as owners away. I then asked can I have sausage instead then but this was not well received and moaned I will have to get one out of the freezer.
Whilst eating my breakfast a couple came down with soya milk and was told oh I have been and bought soya milk especially for you and Linda McCartney sausages.
The lady fussed around them so much but couldn't be bothered to buy a tomato.
When I left she was so busy talking to the vegan couple didn't even look up to see me never mind say thank you or goodbye.
As a single traveller I found the place really unfriendly and very insecure the front door key just left to let anyone in.
Very disappointing as I was planning to revisit again area in Sept but will go elsewhere.

This is not our usual standard as you can see from our previous reviews.
We are reason priced and pride ourselves on cleanliness of our rooms
Didn't see anybody on check in, you do it yourself.
Could get very little water either hot or cold in the room, for washing etc.
If you want a cooked breakfast your fine. But otherwise, no fruit, yoghurt, marmalade or honey.

We alway have yoghurt, due to the exceptional hot weather we left them in the fridge. The hot water is normally in plentiful supply. But due to everyone leaving at the same time this sometimes happen

Short Overnight Stay
Our overnight stay was very brief. Upon arrival, we were a little late so the keys were left in the breakfast room. It took us a while to find the room but when we did it was fine. It was clean and tidy, good WiFi and quiet.
Met the hosts the following day who were really friendly.
