"Rural and fabulous. Small town. Access to "major" highways. A few local restaurants and a grocery store. It's a great home base or a great place to stay for a few days. It's right on the ocean and a cool dock with some fishing (lobster?) boats. Loved it."

"My husband and I and two friends from the States recently spent three wonderful nights at The Old Church on the Isle of Skye. The beautiful old church has been thoughtfully and beautifully restored and renovated into two 3 bedroom units with ample amenities. We were in the Preachers Rest and had beautiful views of the Little Minch Strait. The stunning grounds of the property were immaculate and lovingly cared for. We would recommend this property and its proprietors without hesitation and hope...

When we had a minor issue with an appliance, the owners responded immediately to our message and then went above and beyond to address our concern right away (which is so very difficult to do on Skye). "The cottage is very quaint. There was a little confusion over laundry facilities as the description said there was a dryer but in actuality there wasn’t. However the owner quickly responded when we messaged her. The farmer next door is a delight to chat with. He’s a lifelong resident and he shared a lot of stories about growing up there. It was also fun walking down to the water and finding treasures down at the shore. "

"The property really is a 5 min walk from town. That was the best part. The info and photos online are dated and because that set expectations, our initial impression was disappointing - which planted a seed of doubt. Thankfully, the TV, mattresses and towels were all fine. Our stay would have also been enhanced by any kind of general info letter.
