The supermarket is right next door, various catering establishments for all tastes are only a 1 to 4-minute walk away, a bike rental is 200 meters around the corner and the beaches are within easy walking distance. So vacation goes! Further information on the apartment and leisure activities on Borkum can also be found here: www. polar sternchen-borkum. de The apartment was freshly renovated in 2015\. Enjoy the airy feeling of space through the open beam statics. The view now reaches the roof ridge and creates a cozy atmosphere. The thermal insulation was carried out according to current standards, so that there is a pleasant indoor climate, both in summer and in winter. The new and modern brand kitchen leaves nothing to be desired with a dishwasher, stove with ceramic hob, kettle, extractor hood and a refrigerator with an ice compartment. A highlight is the indirect LED lighting in the roof ridge, which ensures pleasant lighting. A highlight of the special kind is the blue LED lighting in the kitchen area, which creates an unusual atmosphere. Especially when darkness falls, the interior transforms into a "club atmosphere", where you can relax with your partner, friends or family. Leave the 32-inch television with DVD player switched off and indulge in good music on the hi-fi system. This consists of a Yamaha amplifier with tuner and Canton or Visaton speakers for the living area and for the bathroom. Using a jack cable, you can connect your own ipod or mp3 player to the system. The floor is consistently equipped with new, pleasant wooden planks. The bedroom offers a 1.60 m wide double bed with a large wardrobe. You will find additional storage space on the gallery, which can be easily reached via the ladder. The bathroom is equipped with many storage options and also offers space for a washing machine. A clothes horse is also available. All rooms offer a beautiful beam look on the ceiling, some with a deliberate contrast between "old" and "new". The spacious balcony terrace with a new wooden floor facing away from the pedestrian zone offers the necessary vacation rest. Due to the east orientation, you can enjoy the morning sun. During the day you always have sun, all the way until sunset under the roofs of Borkum. As darkness falls, you clearly follow the three pairs of rays of the New Borkum Lighthouse. You can even admire the light-emitting dome of the lighthouse directly from the balcony - an unusual experience! We hope to make your stay and the island experience as pleasant as possible in the apartment "Polarsternchen". Discover Borkum, succumb to its charm and short distances directly from Franz-Habich Straße! We look forward to you! Update February 2016: The spacious balcony (10 sqm) is now equipped with a beautiful and pleasant wooden floor with decking. The lighthouse beams can now be enjoyed even better with a nice glass of wine! Update May 2016: Two brand new Dutch bikes can be conveniently rented. A cool men's transport bike and a Batavus women's city bike are available. Update March 2018: The floor was completely laid with new, solid and visually great wooden floorboards. These give the asterisk a whole new fresh shine and also provide an even more maritime flair. In addition, wood is a natural product and feels even more pleasant on the feet. The asterisk has also been given a new sofa. Im Bereich der Fernsehecke, wird es ziemlich eng, wenn man sich dort mit zwei Personen aufhält. Die Terrasse ist von der Größe her gut. Allerdings schaut man direkt auf das Außenlager des benachbarten EDEKA-Marktes und somit auf Leergutkisten, Mülltonnen, etc.. Ein Sichtschutz wäre hier eine ideale Lösung. Steckdosen im Badezimmer sind nicht wirklich gut für Menschen unter 170 cm Größe erreichbar, da diese in der Decke eingelassen sind. Genauso wenig einfach erreichbar sind diese im Ess- und Wohnzimmerbereich in ca. 10 cm Höhe/Tiefe. Geschirr, Besteck, Elektrogeräte (Toaster, Kaffeemaschine, usw.) sind vorhanden. Die Schräge im Küchenbereich erschwert das Zubereiten von Speisen für Menschen über 180 cm Größe. ##### Jörg W. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das kleine Problem mit der Dusche wurde schnell behoben. Eine Leselampe wäre bei der Schlafcouch schön und vielleicht im Bad einen Hocker. Der Balkon ist groß, aber die Aussicht nicht so prickelnd. Es ist eben der Hinterhof des Lebensmittelgeschäftes. Aber für diese Jahreszeit sowieso zu kalt, um ihn zu nutzen. Wir hätten ihn auch nur zum Frühstücken genutzt. Borkum ist viel zu schön, um auf dem Balkon zu sitzen. Wir hatten auch das Glück, wunderschönes Wetter zu genießen. Es sind sogar einige Spiele, Bücher und Filme vorhanden, falls man Mal nicht raus mag. Die Dachschrägen über der Küchenzeile und dem Bett haben uns nicht gestört - möglicherweise ist das bei sehr großen Menschen anders. Unmittelbare Nähe zum Supermarkt und anderen Geschäften. Wer in den Bewertungen nachliest, findet auch mögliche Nachteile (nicht so schöner Innenhof, Küchenzeile nur für kleine Personen zur Speisenzubereitung geeignet, tagsüber Betriebsgeräusche vom Lebensmitteladen), somit war das für uns keine "böse" Überraschung und auch gar kein Problem. Wer die Küche nutzen möchte, darf allerdings nicht größer als 1,60 Meter sein. Da wir nur auswärts gegessen haben, spielte dies für uns keine Rolle. Mit dem Leben im Zentrum muss man auch die frühmorgendliche Geräuschkulisse des benachbarten Supermarkts in Kauf nehmen. Dafür hat man kurze Wege, auch zum Strand. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter verlief freundlich und propmt. ##### Simone S. Mit Minimalgepäck angereist (per Fahrrad die Ems hoch!) war alles da, was wir brauchten. Supermarkt direkt daneben ist klasse, die Dachterrasse gefiel uns gut - wenn man sitzt, guckt man nicht auf die Edeka Lagerfläche! Morgens konnten wir in der Sonne frühstücken. Gut ausgestattet inkl. TV, Stereoanlage und WLAN sowie Spül- und Waschmaschine. Der Wohnungsschnitt bzw. die Dachschrägen sind etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, ebenso der Ausblick vom großen Balkon in den Hinterhof des direkt benachbarten Supermarkts. Sie ist zum Hinterhof ausgerichtet und daher ruhig. Die Edeka-Aktivitäten im Hinterhof waren nicht wirklich störend, da wir sowieso immer unterwegs waren. Bei allen Vorteilen dieser Wohnung und der professionellen Betreuung im Vorfeld, ist der absolute KO-Punkt der nebenan gelegene Supermarkt, auf den nicht hingewiesen wurde. Jeden Tag wird der natürlich 2-3 mal ab 7h mit LKW beliefert. Das Schlafzimmer befindet sich direkt über diesem Szenario. Geht überhaupt nicht - schade! Der Blick vom Balkon/Außenterrasse auf das rel. große Getränke- und Nachschublager fällt da schon gar nicht mehr ins Gewicht. Die Ausstattung ist super, man hat alles was man braucht. Leider wird es ziemlich schnell hell am Morgen, da das Schlafzimmerfenster nicht komplett abgedunkelt werden kann. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter der FeWo war stets top! Leider waren wir doch etwas enttäuscht über die Wohnung. Die Toilette war nicht gereinigt, im Schlafzimmer hing Tapete von der Wand... die Wohnung an sich ist schön und hell, allerdings sollte an einigen Stellen mal wieder nachgebessert werden. Die letzte Renovierung liegt halt doch schon ein paar Tage zurück und das sieht man leider. Insgesamt wirkt alles etwas „abgewohnt“.Die Sauberkeit fanden wir ebenfalls verbesserungsbedürftig. Ein Toaster wäre auch schön gewesen (oder wir haben ihn nur nicht gefunden). Die Lage der Wohnung, direkt im Stadtzentrum ist super. Strand & Restaurants sind schnell erreichbar! ##### Jaqueline S.
