It was a cute cabin with a stream in the back. The owners were great at communicating with me. We saw deer and some turkeys around the area. It was a great place to stay.
This is our third time staying and it remains our favorite place to stay when we are in Boone for App football games. Easy to get to and great location. Super close to everything in Boone
We loved the cabin. It is so cosy and unique. It is so charming and felt like the cabin just enveloped you with love. It was perfect for our mountain vacation. It had everything we needed and more. We only wished we gould etay longer. The locstion is wonderful close to Boone, quiet so peaceful. We loved being so close to the creek where we could enjoy nature. Our hosts Sherry and Rick were amazing.Checking in to make sure everything was ok. They certainly went above and beyound to ensure that we had the perfect stay. They had wonderful recommendations about things to do around town.It was an absolute pleasure nd delight to meet both them. Their cabin is perfect and we will certainly return and recommend Cosy Cabin on the Creek to all our friends.Thank you Sherry and Rick for sharing your beatiful comy home with us. We left Boone with so many happy memories.
It was a nice getaway for my son’s birthday and family time. We enjoyed exploring the creek and sitting around the fire pit. The cabin was a perfect distance from all amenities and Tweetsie Railroad. We will definitely plan a return trip.
Beautiful property central location for many things to do, hiking trails, waterfalls, blue ridge parkway, & shopping. Easy to communicate with Sherry, cookies at the cabin on arrival were a nice touch.
Very enjoyable stay at this authentic Mountain cabin with great atmosphere. Nice firepit with great mountain views and creek in a quiet area. Cabin was very clean with comfortable bedding and everything you needed. Hosts were very helpful and accomodating. Hope to stay again soon.

Excellent place to stay for an App State game or any reason. Close to town for easy access, but you feel away from everything while relaxing on the back deck listening to the creek flow. Side note, the cookies are second to none.
We stayed at Creekside Cabin over Thanksgiving and had a wonderful stay! Sherry and Rick were so responsive and answered all of our questions (and left warm cookies for us when we checked in, which were delicious and quickly eaten!) The kitchen had everything we needed for our Thanksgiving meal, and when we sat outside on the deck we could hear the river below. It was a great family vacation, and we will be back!
Our family needed a break from the busyness of life and from the heat and humidity of the Sandhills. This was the perfect retreat! The creek is everything- the view, the sound, the fresh trout! We had a relaxing and quiet weekend. Sherry and Rick were wonderful hosts and we hope to stay again in the near future.
It was everything I imagined it to be...super clean, great beds, well stocked kitchen for cooking, close to great grocery store. But still in the country
Great mountain cabin with a full mountain feel. Had a nice view of mountain creek and firepit with ample wood included. Nice short hike down to beautiful creek with some handrails, steps, and a rope. zaxssassist
We were looking forward to this stay and it did not disappoint! We arrived to find a clean, cozy cabin. The owners were close and checked to make sure everything was good. Sherry had delicious homemade cookies waiting for us. Check in and checkout was very easy! We really enjoyed the peacefulness of this place
We had a wonder but too short stay at Cozy Cabin on Howard's Creek. We were in Boone for the King of the Mountain Soccer tournament and the cabin was the perfect location, less than 10 mins to Watauga HS and the Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex. When my son wasn't on the soccer field he enjoyed fishing in the creek just steps from the cabin, while my older son had his own quiet retreat in the basement bedroom/family room to study for his AP exam. Sherry and Rick were amazing host from their homemade cookies to fishing tips. We would love to have had more time to explore and enjoy the cabin, which means we'll have to visit again.
A wonderful cabin experience. You are close to everything but fill like your in the mountains by yourself. The fresh baked cookies were a pleasant surprise and a nice touch.
We will definitely be back again
Creekside Cabin was everything we had hoped! The property is beautiful with the creek right out back. The cabin itself was cozy, wonderfully equipped and immaculately clean. Add to that excellent communication/responsiveness from the host and delicious cookies waiting on the counter! We could not have been more pleased and can not wait to return!
The property and cabin were very well appointed. There is an abundance of outdoor seating areas we would sit outside and listen to the creek rambling through the back of the property guest, the previous week caught their trout dinner in the creek. It is very well located to Blowing Rock and downtown Boone. We loved our stay, and will definitely be back. The owners make the most delicious cookies and you can order them to bring home with you after your trip. I highly recommend the toffee cookies!!
We were 3 childhood friends celebrating our birthdays. Sherry and Rick are top notch hosts. They excelled at communicating with us and went above and beyond to make our stay one to remember. They left us cookies, a Happy Birthday sign and a delicious birthday cake. They truly care about their renters. The cabin was clean and comfortable. The setting along the creek is so peaceful. Thank you Sherry and Rick for sharing your cabin with us.
It was a delightful weekend in a cozy mountain cabin. The first impression was made even sweeter by delicious cookies. The cabin was spotless. There were several outside seating areas —-perfect for drinking coffee in the morning or a campfire for s’mores or cooking trout in the evening. The creek was perfect for trout fishing. We cooked breakfast in the morning and enjoyed eating it in the dining area with the coziest little heater. Best of all, the hosts were very helpful and willing to help make our stay perfect. Highly recommend this cabin.
My husband, teen daughter & her friend, and I really enjoyed Creekside Cabin! It was so cozy and clean, and the owners added special touches like delicious cookies for us on arrival, and a birthday banner hung because I had mentioned it was my husband’s birthday weekend! The beds were very comfortable, and the whole cabin is cozy! We especially loved sitting by the gas log fireplace! The creek behind the cabin is gorgeous, and trekking down to the creek was fun! We went snow tubing at Hawksnest, walked around downtown Boone, and had great Indian & Thai food using the hosts’ recommendations. Communication was perfect— Sherry was responsive and helpful if we needed anything. We will definitely come back!
Terrific location – quiet cul-de-sac street close to activities, yet away from the traffic and noise. Clear running stream adjacent to rear of lot and plenty of outdoor seating areas. Quiet and peaceful – perfect for relaxing and unwinding. Rick and Sherry have made the cabin welcoming and comfortable. They have put lots of thought and care into this property to make your stay enjoyable and fun. Very nicely furnished and decorated with seasonal touches, and well equipped with all essentials – Kitchen and otherwise. Comfortable bed and linens. Overall, this is one of the best rentals we’ve made. No need to hesitate or second guess this option – book it, you won’t regret it.
Thank you to Rick and Sherry for an amazing stay! They were so gracious and attentive with their time and extremely helpful. The cabin is gorgeous, well appointed, clean, cozy and has amazing views of Howard’s creek and surrounding mountains. A very short drive to downtown Boone and easy access to everything this area offers. My son loved wading in the creek even though weather was not the best for fishing. We played games, read books, visited, and made precious family memories in the comfort and coziness of Creekside Cabin. Plan to visit more if my daughter decides on App State! Thanks again Rick and Sherry! Best experience with a VRBO rental in the 10 years I have been renting properties on this app.
Our say at the Creekside cabin was wonderful. We live in the NC mountains and are used to the cabin environment. That said, the Tobins have added many nice touches to the cabin to make they stay interesting and enjoyable. If you want an authentic cabin experience this is a good choice. We visited Boone to move our granddaughter in to her Appalachian State dorm. The cabin was relatively close to campus, yet far enough away to give us a break from the hectic pace of move-in day. We enjoyed our coffee on the front porch each morning. The back porches were even more tranquil and the creek is beautiful. Everything we needed and more was available in the cabin. The Tobins were great hosts.
