Construction was underway during my stay at this property. I did not appreciate the front desk staff nor the check in experience. The room was really cold. Overall, I did not feel welcomed here and would certainly not recommend any friend to stay at this hotel.

ELEVATOR OUT OF SERVICE!!
Checking in took took long. No forms to fill out. Clerk asked questions for him to type to computer. ELEVATOR OUT OF SERVICE! Climbing four floors is no easy task at 2,650 meters altitude.

Safe box did not work, stayed for 6 nights, I was promised that it will be fixed or replaced but it never happened. WiFi is very weak. Room’s front doors make a lot noise when closing. Bathroom towels had a lot of stains.

The room was very very cold. It is my first Time to stay in a four start hotel in bogota Who doesn't have heater. I don't recommend this hotel.

Location good, Poorly run. Rooms hit or miss.
So we booked this hotel for a stay for one night on our way to Cartagena, and then on the return after our visit to Cartagena. First night, for one night. They overbooked the hotel. We had three rooms. Two junior suites and the largest suite. We ended up getting the two junior suites and a very small room to cram in 3 people. At least they had rooms at this point, it was only for a few hours anyway. On our return, We go to check in. They overbook the hotel again. This time they move us to " an upgraded hotel" for the screw up on the front end. We say no we want to stay here, of course being the hotel is overbooked they want us to move to the upgraded place. This hotel location is much better for us and takes away the need for for Taxis, and places we want to walk are near by. Needless to say, we get moved to the upgraded hotel. Just causes all kinds of extra cost to us. A real headache. Taxis are a must now for everything. We actually had one person that could not make the trip, and even though we did not cancel in advance, we asked to cancel and they still charged us, mind you, no room to offer. I would not have minded so much on the first go, but two times, adding all the extra cost, then even when we asked to just cancel the one person, not all the reservations, just a mess. We even had fluent Spanish speaking person in our party. Poorly run. Hotel for the price is not bad, but just run bad,bad,bad.

Nice place, but managed poorly.
Didn't end up staying here, they overbooked the hotel, and moved us to another hotel. We wanted to stay at this hotel because of location. We were moved to a location that was nice, but were not happy with location of the other hotel.

A good alternative for longer stays in Bogota!
The hotel is a bit worn so that excellent cleaning does not provide the expected results, some paint would improve the impression, for it is indeed good value. The suites have a Kitchen, but not the cutlery, pots and pans needed for longer stays. Be sure to bring your own bottled water as the price from the minibar is 10 times that of the supermarked. The service is friendly and good, but procedures at check-in is still somewhat old-fashioned and bureaucratic in Colombia.

Good hotel, clean, helpfull staff.
Enjoyed staying at this hotel. Very helpful friendly staff. Clean Rooms, nice Breakfast and evening meals if required. No noise at night, good area for walking and close to park 93.

Rooms was very old, shower didn´t work well. Bogotá is cold has room has no heating. Had to ask for another blanket for the bed. Breakfast really simple Internet good, location of the hotel good, hotel staff nice.

Nice place, walking distance to restaurants
The hotel was in a nice location and within walking distance to malls and restaurants. It was shown as having a kitchenette which was not nearly up to par. The two burners did not work nor were there any dishes, pans or silverware. While the staff was great, the toilet did not flush half the time and the shower was terrible. It went from normal to burn to cold. You had to dance thru to get a shower. I would be terrified if I had kids as they would surely have been burnt. By us and our spoiled American standards, it was for sure not a 4 star hotel, more like a 2. By standards for the area, so I have hears, it was about a 3 plus. I would not choose to stay here again. I would spend more, get more and move to the Candelaria section of town where at least you get the history and walking distance to the area.

Look for other options
The hotel was not up to the standard that we expected. The safe didn't work, one of the bedside lights didn't work, and the hot water failed during our stay. The staff did not know what was happening and tried to fob us off whilst we were trying to get ready for a wedding - we ended up using the coffee maker for hot water to wash hair, and cold showers. In comparison to other hotels, it was tired and poor value for money

Decent hotel, but don't fix issues and will lie
The room was okay, but the service was terrible. Our bathtub didn't now work, but instead of moving us to a different room they claimed tha they were going to fix it every day, but never did. They then tried to convince me that they had fixed it while I was gone...of course they had not done anything. It was a classic passing of the buck from the day staff to the night staff every day. Part of the point of getting the suite was for the bathrrom

Nice hotel for the price
Stayed 4 days with out any major problems. The check in was pleasant and quick. Breakfast is included in the room rate but nothing to boast .One night while taking a shower the hot water stopped and had to take cold shower. Everything was back to normal by morning. The main reason to book this hotel was the free parking spot. One evening when we came back there was no parking spot available!!!! The front desk clerk was good enough to hold our key and park it when they had the space. I think the spaces should have a reserved sign if the guest is living there.

The hotel was clean and modern. The staff spoke English. I cannot comment on restaurants near the hotel because I got in late and left early. I'd stay at Sercotel again.

I have been couple of times to this hotel, but unfortunately I dont think I will go back. The rooms are getting worse every stay. I am not very demanding, I travel for business, but all I want is a clean room, and the toilet wasn't on this occasion.

Dreadful don't stay at this hotel!
Do not stay at a hotel in this chain. The arrogance of the management is astounding. A note was left under the door one night saying no hot water tomorrow. No mention of alternatives for a shower or a rebate. The lobby was a construction mess during my stay and no mention of that at the time of booking. The ad referred to a full kitchenette but there wasn't a spoon, fork, or knife, nor a plate nor a bowl nor a pot nor a pan. The promised breakfast was without coffee unless you could wait long enough for the coffee guy to finish delivering to upstairs rooms for tips. At the end of the day these people should be ashamed of themselves and you should never book or stay with them! The receptionist was very nice though.

Staff was great! Kitchen area wasn't really practical unless you have utensils. Drivers were amazingly helpful in getting to where I needed to go and with suggestions of where to go.

Great Hotel Only Blocks from Parque 93
I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Sercotol Richmond Suites. The room was very clean and the staff was very nice and helpful. Despite my limited Spanish, they helped me get taxis to Monserrate and the Airport. Additionally, I felt very safe in the hotel and the surrounding neighborhood. I hope to come back to Bogota and stay here again.

Check in process is very ineffective, I've used the hotel twice and there have been issues with my fare both times and the response from counter personnel is "this is the way it works here" type, and when one request speaking with the manager, they would not give you that option. Rooms don't have AC, so even though Bogota could be cold at night, you have no choice to control the temperature of your room. If you book through Expedia and checkout on a weekend day, you would not get a legal receipt for the taxes you have to pay directly to the hotel. They offered to send it via email on Monday or Tuesday - Wait and see...

Very nice hotel and location. But they need to update the GYM , 2 of the 4 machines were broken. Also, the bathroom needs maintenance. No hair dryer. Mold in the sink etc. With some updates, the place will be great

Good, basic hotel
Hotel covers the basics for a traveler that expects to spend little time in the property: - basic but good breakfast, - reliable internet connection (wifi) - rooms are OK. No pool, gym is a step below basic, although it has a couple of cardio machines. Staff is very friendly, courteous, and helpful. Don't expect a modern hotel and certainly not a modern room. No AC (need to ask for unit, which will be provided timely). Mattress and pillows could certainly be better. Great location walking distance to restaurants and bars but far enough to avoid the noise.

We arrived late (1 am) and had to wait for someone to come and let us in. They did not have any of the paperwork started so we had to complete it which took 15 minutes. We were on the 5th floor in a junior suite, we opened the door and it was sniffling hot. We looked for air conditioning controls and could not find any. We tried to call down to the front desk but neither phone worked. Took the elevator down and the security and front desk person was sitting in the dark (presumably trying to sleep). We were told that the room has no air conditioning or heat. They said they could get us a fan. Also told us we should use the phone rather than come down, we told them that the phones do not work. First day we were there the room was not cleaned well but the next night the cleaning woman did a great job. The pictures are of the hotel just a while ago, maybe 5 years. The hotel is ok just really old and for the stars it does not have the standard amenities. I had pre-paid the hotel through expedia but they added on additional fees such as security which ended up being another $50 for 2 days. There are much nicer hotels with more features and less expensive.

Bought a package of flight plus hotel and found the hotel to be not only nice but very centrally located to where I needed to be in Bogota. Staff was great as was the coffee/breakfast. I will stay here again when I need to be in Bogota!

We booked our room for 2 weeks in Bogota. Since we had 2 children, they upgraded our room which we appreciated. The staff was wonderful. Always received us with a smile. Our breakfast waiter was great. The only thing that was a little annoying was coming back to the hotel most nights to find all the towels (but one) gone. They would forget to bring new ones. But no biggie, they would bring them over each night after we called. The hotel location was great. Close to nice restaurants, grocery store, shopping center, pharmacy, park for the kids, coffee shops, Transmilenio, etc. Sometimes too much traffic in front of the hotel, so it was nice that we could walk to most places. I do wish they had cheaper laundry service or a place nearby where things could be washed. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat to anyone.

Excellent hotel! Great View
The hotel was great and spacious with a kitchenette. The only flaw was in the toilet not being able to open the lids properly due to a wall design flaw which I am not sure why it was not fixed.

I love the breakfast buffet. All food looked fresh and the hotel staff were helping to get whatever you need. The room specially the bathroom was really clean. I'll come back at this hotel in the future.
