Carson Bowler, this architectural gem full of open spaces and windows offers beautiful views of the coastal meadow, the open ocean, and spectacular sunsets. This is a place for days spent collecting seashells, reading by the fire, and unwinding in the hot tub beneath star-filled skies. This 2-bedroom, 2-bath split-level home sits a few blocks inland from Portuguese Beach, a local favorite for its golden sand, rocky headlands, and fishing from the surf and rocks. It's a wonderful setting for beach hopping up and down the Sonoma Coast and taking scenic drives on Highway 1\. You'll be less than five miles north of Bodega Bay's working harbor, shops, and seafood restaurants, and seven miles south of Jenner at the mouth of the Russian River. The house was thoughtfully outfitted for days spent in the sand, with beach chairs, towels, an outdoor shower, and a washer/dryer all on hand for your use. Returning home each afternoon, you'll be greeted by gorgeous outdoor spaces: a balcony off the living room, a patio with rocking chairs at the edge of the meadow, and a sheltered deck with a fire table - most with sweeping views that reach the ocean. The light-filled, open-concept top level brings together a sleek kitchen (with stainless steel appliances), dining area, and living room. Linger here to enjoy the views and play board games by the fireplace, or head down to the den to find a smart TV and a classic Malm Fire Drum fireplace. Each spacious, serene bedroom has its own en suite bathroom. A dedicated home office (with an Apple monitor and USB-C jack) and complimentary WiFi are provided as well. There’s even a portable Bose Bluetooth speaker in case you want to listen to music as you discover favorite spaces in different rooms. The house was renovated with modern tech and energy efficiency in mind, hewing to the Sea Ranch aesthetic of good design, economy of space, and harmony with the natural environment. The hardwired, 240-volt, 48-amp Clipper Creek J Plug EV charger in the garage charges up to 46 miles of range per hour; and solar panels on the roof charge the battery that powers essential house functions in the event of a power outage. The appliances include an induction stovetop (compatible pots supplied!), while heat pump technology drives the water heater and forced-air climate control. The propane fireplaces are environmentally friendly - and starting a cozy fire requires only the push of a button. The garage has room for one sedan (no taller vehicles), and there is more than enough room for any vehicle in the driveway. Things to Know Check-in time: 4:00 PM. Check-out time: 10:00 AM. The location was perfect for access to the many beaches and hikes along the Pacific, day trips to wineries, or the redwoods in the Armstrong Reserve. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and it's less than 2 hours from the San Francisco Airport. We really loved having two separate master suites; it was ideal for two couples. The hot tub (with outdoor shower!) and fire pit were a treat in chilly evenings. \*\*\*\*\* & \*\*\*\* have thought of everything - books, wireless bluetooth speaker, cozy blankets, pantry essentials, beach chairs, and even a kite! Two king suites with luxurious bathrooms ensure that no one gets the "bad room." Upscale woven rattan furniture and beach colors are tastefully executed and you will be sighing with instant relaxation when you arrive. The photos are a tiny glimpse of the beauty that this house offers. Top of the line appliances and a well equipped kitchen make it easy to cook in, but don't miss the local restaurants either. Premium bedding and mattresses provide restful nights and the hot tub is an added bonus. Nice sense of privacy on the decks. We would definitely rent again.
