Bodega Bay Salmon Creek Waterfront Cottage for Two and Dogs
Summary:
Salmon Creek flows past your deck as harbor seals play in the tidal waters below. Curl up by the gas fireplace with your pup after exploring the beach — just a short walk away. This intimate cottage for two sits directly on the water with sweeping views across the creek to distant hills. Spud Point's legendary crab sandwiches are 1.5 miles south. Your front door opens to the wild Sonoma Coast, where gray whales pass in winter and the sound of the Pacific carries on the breeze.
The Space:
Spend mornings on the bluff as fog burns off the Pacific, afternoons exploring the Sonoma Coast's tide pools and trails, and evenings around the dining table with fresh crab from the harbor.
A turquoise sectional and matching armchair gather around a woven rattan coffee table, the gas fireplace anchoring the room beneath exposed white ceiling beams. Large windows frame the wetlands and Salmon Creek beyond. The kitchenette runs along one wall with open shelving, a white-tile backsplash, a full-size fridge, and a toaster oven — enough for simple meals but no full oven or dishwasher, so plan one or two dinners out at The Casino in Bodega. A natural wood dining table seats four by the window.
OUTDOOR LIVING
Step onto the wooden deck with wire cable railing to take in panoramic views of Salmon Creek and the surrounding wetlands. Red wooden chairs and blue Adirondack chairs provide multiple spots to settle in, while a gas grill and red-and-white striped patio umbrella make outdoor dining a delight. String lights create warm ambiance for evening relaxation as the sun dips below the waterline.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
The bedroom offers a queen bed with a white headboard and coral accent pillows beneath exposed white ceiling beams. A tall wooden armoire provides ample storage, and pendant lighting with nautical wall decor complete the coastal retreat. The cottage comfortably sleeps 2.
PROPERTY AMENITIES
-- 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom
-- Gas fireplace
-- Gas grill
-- Waterfront deck with seating
-- Dog-friendly (up to 4 dogs welcome)
-- Smart lock entry
Guest Access:
Pour a glass on the harbor-side deck and watch the bay from a cottage finished in white beams and coastal blues — the gas fireplace catches the chill once the wind picks up. The whole cottage is yours, dogs included, with ocean and river views from inside. Punch in the keypad code at the door, and tuck two cars in out front.
The Neighborhood:
You're perfectly positioned in Salmon Creek, where the creek meets the Pacific just two miles north of Bodega Bay proper. Salmon Creek State Beach awaits just 0.4 miles away — a short walk for morning beach strolls with your pup. The legendary Spud Point Crab Company (1.5 mi) serves their famous crab sandwiches and award-winning clam chowder that draw lines on weekends. For morning coffee, Sea Flower Cafe (1.0 mi) is your closest option, or try Roadhouse Coffee (1.1 mi). When hunger strikes, Terrapin Creek (1.1 mi) offers upscale coastal cuisine, while The Boat House (1.3 mi) serves casual fare with dog-friendly outdoor seating. Stock up on essentials at Pelican Plaza Grocery & Deli (1.4 mi) or Diekmann's Bay Store (1.4 mi). Nature lovers will appreciate the Sonoma Coast State Marine Conservation Area (0.3 mi) and multiple beach access points. Chanslor Ranch (0.5 mi) offers horseback riding along the coast. The Coastal Prairie Trail (0.9 mi) provides easy hiking with ocean views.
Getting Around:
Bodega Bay is about 90 minutes from San Francisco — a beautiful drive up 101 and out Highway 1 through farmland and coastal ranches. You'll have parking for two vehicles at the cottage. Note: during king high tide events, the road and parking area may temporarily flood — check tide schedules before your trip. A car makes exploring the Sonoma Coast effortless — it unfolds for miles in either direction. Cell service is light along the coast, so downloading offline maps before you arrive is a good idea.
Other Things to Note:
The kitchenette is perfect for simple meals but lacks a full oven and dishwasher — plan accordingly or enjoy the many excellent local restaurants. The cottage stays naturally cool thanks to coastal breezes and doesn't have air conditioning — you'll rarely need it here where summer highs reach only the 60s. Salmon Creek Beach is an easy walk from your door — perfect for morning dog walks. Keep your pup leashed near the creek as harbor seals often rest on the banks. The gas grill on the deck is ideal for grilling fresh seafood from local markets. Internet is provided though speeds may vary. The primary renter must be 21 or older. The string lights on the deck create magical evenings — the switch is just inside the sliding door. Please be aware that during king high tide events, the road and parking area may experience temporary flooding. Check tide schedules if you're arriving during a king tide.

We had a lovely weekend. The place was clean, cozy, and very quiet (except for the nesting swallows ;)). Very convenient access to hiking and good restaurants. You can walk to the beach.

Another Amazing Visit To Mar-Tiny
This was our fourth time staying at Mar-Tiny and it was fantastic! We love this place and plan on many more trips to Mar-Tiny. The location and decor is spot on.
Cute little place on the water at Salmon Creek just a short walk to the ocean. Lots of birds to watch from the big deck. Perfect for a couple.

Quaint Getaway Spot
The location is amazing for any nature lover and beach goer. Very cozy dwelling stocked with linens, cooking supplies, games and basic household items. The bed is very comfortable and the heater works well. The place was incredibly clean!
Amazing little cottage on the water. Peaceful home, birds and dear all over and walking distance to the beach. We loved that the house overlooked a river. Amazing to sit outside and watch all the birds and deer go on about their day. Felt very tranquil for us. Home was perfect for us, clean and cozy.
We stayed there for 6 nights. The view from the house is amazing. The house has everything! The key was a little tricky and outside window could be cleaned but other than that we really enjoyed staying this house! We would love to come back again.

Estuarial!
We loved being right on the Salmon Creek estuary, watching the wrens, swallows, sparrows, and herons and even deer feed along the creek and marsh. We could hear the surf in the background and a beautiful beach was 1/4 mile walk only. The place was very comfortable and a perfect nature retreat for 2.
Adorable cabin right on the creek. It had all the necessities, enough kitchen stuff to cook a bit there, and plenty of blankets and space heaters to stay cozy on cold evenings. During the day, it's a close walk to a state beach (not dog friendly) or short drive to other beaches, hiking, and little towns like Valley Ford and Bodega Bay. Cabin was clean and tidy with easy check in/out via text. Overall a great stay!
This was nice. Right on Salmon creek. Sit on the deck watching all the waterfowl etc. Close to town of Bodega, walking trails and beaches close by. Perfect you 2 and your pet.

Cozy & Quiet
This house has most everything that you would need. Two different sources of heat windows that open from the top down to let in the cool ocean breezes which you can hear. You can hear the ocean. Nice areas to walk to. Lots of wild life to watch. Very cozy couch to curl up on and read a book or take a nap.

Wonderful Stay
We loved this little cottage. When you first walk in, your first impression is one of “cozy.” Although small, the cottage is more than ample for two people.
The couches are perfect as is the bed – very comfortable!
Walking outside, one has a great view of salmon, Creek and beyond. There are no homes to interrupt your view
we gave fishing a try, but probably not for enough time. That was still fun, though.
All in all, we truly enjoyed our stay and recommend this home to anyone who wants a comfy stay.

Great place, but ant colony in house and Vacasa ignores calls
The location and area is great. We loved it. One issue was that there is an ant colony int the chair and ottoman inside the house . Vacasa has been remorseful in helping me deal with this. Text, calls and empty promises.
This little place does not look like much from the outside, but when you open the door you enter a sweet little one bedroom. The overhead sky lights and decor make it warm and welcoming. The internet is spotty, so if you plan on jumping on your computer or watching a lot of TV you may need a back up. Lovely place by the water. We got to watch kayakers, water fowl, fish, otters and more from the balcony as we sipped our coffee or enjoyed a glass of wine. The area is very peacefull.
Stayed 2 nights, that was enough. Love looking right out at Salmon Creek, ducks, geese, herons and egrets all enjoy the slow moving water. But the house is tired and in need of work. In the bathroom the area between the tub and the synthetic wall panels is black with mold. The huge furniture has lost the padding and is not comfortable. The gas fireplace did not turn on, but the gas wall heater did a good job of keeping the place warm.
Beautiful spot right on the creek that definitely lives up to its photographs in the listing. Really the only trouble we had was with the furnishings; other reviews mention how comfy the couch was, but it was really soft and broken down for us. It was so uncomfortable that we went into Santa Rosa to buy a chair for me. The dining chairs are super rickety also. And the mattress was uncomfortable for both of us. But honestly, in better weather, we would mostly be spending time on the deck or on day trips anyway. It was storming a lot of the time we were there in January and it was a really cozy spot to watch the rain. The location makes up for all that, so I would still definitely recommend it.
Heater was broken or the pilot light was out. The door was open when we got there and it could not be closed and locked when we left. The pillows were hard. We had to provide our own water. The couches that look so lovely in the picture did not look like that and they were very close to the ground making it a challenge to get out. The use of throw rugs was a problem for me. There were no grab bars in the shower/bath combo. The toilet was the size for a child.

Another Amazing Visit To Mar-Tiny
This was our fifth time staying at Mar-Tiny. Always a great stay. The fresh coat of exterior paint looks great!
We loved the location within walking distance to beach. We enjoy sitting on deck watching the birds and kayakers floating by. The bed was very comfortable. The living room was comfortable also.
