  • After a day of beach combing, Sonoma Coast trail hiking, crab or chowder eating, wine sipping and art collecting retire to your deck for a sunset sip and a lighting of the oceanfront fire pit on the deck. Enjoy views of the stars in the dark sky from the private hot tub. 2 bedrooms and baths are on the top floor. All beds are queen sized to help you drift away to sleep as you listen to the waves. We have resident sea lions that hang out in front of the house and can be seen frolicking throughout the day! At certain times we live on property in separate private quarters with a separate entrance. It is our part time residence. When you send an inquiry for specific dates we can tell you if we will be there at that time. Even then, you will still have the 2 beds/ 2 baths/kitchen / living room/ deck/ fire pit/ BBQ grill and hot tub all to yourselves.
    WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW: Wifi and cell signal is spotty in this area and is not guaranteed for your stay. At times there may be limited or no wifi access, which can be nice to relax and unplug sometimes. Verizon cell service typically is very strong but other carriers may not work throughout the town. To access beach you have a 1-2 minute drive, or you can walk down the driveway and down a steep hill to the sand. Please ask any questions you have before booking.

The views!!!! This wonderful cliff house is very private (thanks to the new bridge taking traffic away) and a wonderful view of the beach/sunset and moonlit ocean. We had a lot of fun discovering the "secret shortcut" to the beach and walk there 2x a day. Bodega Bay is a great place to eat out and it is difficult to beat this stay for so many reasons. That's a photo FROM the house the night before full moon.

Incredible Views and Comfortable Stay

This house is an absolute gem. If you're looking for a relaxing beach location that is dog-friendly and quiet, look no further than this vrbo! The beach was a very short walk, and the updated bridge with the pedestrian overpass made it easy and safe. This house has incredible views and is well stocked with all the kitchen and bathroom essentials. We enjoyed using the fire pit and watching the sun set from the patio. Communication with Cheryl was so easy and she even sent over recommendations for dog friendly restaurants and wineries! We very much appreciated our stay here and hope to be back soon!

Spectacular views!! Easy communication with the host even though she was traveling. Loved the gas fireplace, hot tub that faces the pasture and a fire pit on the Ocean side she had ready to light. This cottage is comfortable but not luxurious. We were good with this because we wanted our Labrador to accompany us. Many of the restaurants close early so plan dinners at home or order takeout to enjoy the sunset. Be aware there are stairs up to the cottage which can slow down a retired senior. Wi-Fi worked well. Thank you! we would love to return soon.

Awesome oceanfront location on a beautiful and serene beach.

This property is a fantastic welcoming stay and an outstanding oceanfront location experience for vacationing near both Bodega Bay and Jenner on the coast in Sonoma County! The clean, comfortable and nostalgic setting is perfect setting for some kick-back R&R, yet also convenient to all the varied activities that this area has to offer. It is a wonderful vacation and coastal oceanic experience for all ages to enjoy.

Good house, great setting

Comfortable modest home, a bit dated but lovely nonetheless, perched on a spectacular setting above the ocean, a constant welcome presence in our stay there. Very nice hot tub on the road / farm side so can't combine the two (but can hear a symphony of frogs!). Hosts super communicative and helpful. Enjoyed hikes both north and south, with fresh local seafood lunches and returning to the marvelous perch for spectacular sunsets. Note wifi poor (as disclosed on listing transparently). Recommend home and locale highly

Great Location

Great spot right on the bluff looking over the ocean. Very short walk down to the beach which was not crowded at all. Nice host, prompt communication. We had a very nice stay!

Met our expectations in every way

Easy, friendly and accurate communication with our host. Beautiful location on the cliff top overlooking sea,rocks and beach. Cooked great meals in the kitchen and played board games in front of fires- both inside and out. Location was great for hiking and a short drive to fun breakfast, lunch and dinner places on the ocean. We will become regulars:)

Incredible house and views

Words cannot describe the views from this house. Simply stunning and so beautiful. The house sits right on a cliff overlooking the beach and the ocean. An endless view of the coast. Just wow. I was speechless! The photos really do not do this place justice. And the view is a bit visible from the living room area and one of the bedrooms as well. We had a great time! The kitchen is huge and had water, coffee, and all utensils and plates etc you will need. We were there only one night but it was well worth the price. We also used the hot tub, which overlooked the other side (did not face the ocean). But it was still a nice view. At night, in complete darkness, you get an amazing, also vast, view of the stars. I could stare at them forever. It was truly beautiful, as much as the ocean views. The only issue was the toilet in one of the bathrooms (the en suite one). It has a very weak flush, therefore we did not use it for fear of clogging the plumbing. Overall, we would stay here again. It was the best 2-day trip we’ve had in a long time. Highly, highly recommend.

Costal getaway

Beautiful beachside cottage! This was a spur of the moment trip and we felt we found a special gem on the beach. House was extremely comfortable! The host was very hospitable and provided some fun things to do close by. Definitely plan to prepare meals as you don’t want to leave the house for too much as the views are just amazing 🤩… thank you again, we will be back soon for sure

Serenity by the sea

The views from this home are breathtaking! We had everything to enjoy a getaway off the grid. We were very comfortable in this welcoming home. It was very clean and Debbie had everything set up for us to take full advantage of all the amenities. Debbie was very accommodating and communicated with us to make sure our journey there and stay were great. There are several outdoor spaces , a built in grill, patio area , hot tub, and an ocean view firepit. We enjoyed a sunset by the firepit and wine. Your close to wineries, Russian river, and scenic coastal drives. Restaurants and grocery are all close by as well. Debbie is an excellent host and takes time to make sure you enjoy her property. We definitely recommend this home as a choice to stay in this area.

Peace and tranquility right on the ocean! Heaven on earth!

Property manager was hands down AMAZING! I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for ocean view, ocean access, the sound of waves crashing all day and night on one side and beautiful rolling fields and frogs croaking at night on the other side. It’s heaven on earth.

It’s All About the View

The dynamite feature of this rental is the location right on the coast and view from its cliff top location. Beware if you are afraid of heights! The sound of the waves is so soothing. The property itself is modest. Don’t expect high end linens, towels or high quality furnishings. What is there is comfortable but maybe not what you would expect at this rental price. I took away one star in cleanliness for dirty windows. I know it’s a battle to keep windows clean in the sea mist, but for this rate and cleaning fee charge, the view windows should be cleaned for each rental to enjoy. Cheryl was awesome helping with suggestions for restaurants and activities. It may be helpful for renters to know there is a set of stairs to climb to enter the unit.

Great Stay

My wife and I have been going to Bodega Bay for many years now and this place was one of our favorites. Impossible to get any closer to the ocean and a one minute walk to an uncrowded beach. My 2-year old daughter and I did some "deck camping" and fell asleep to the sound of the waves. The indoor bedrooms are also very comfortable. Great location just north of Bodega Bay - away from the crowds, but only 4-5 minutes to get into town. Hosts were very accommodating with excellent communication. Thanks for having us!

Last minute getaway

We rented this property at last minute to avoid smoke in our area. Location is great but you cannot use the stairs, you see in a photo, to get down to the beach. It just takes a short walk to the beach though. AC didn’t work but opening windows worked to cool down the house. Bring your own logs for fire pit. The logs there were outside and not covered. The rate is quite high for what it is IMHO, however we were able to book this house in a wonderful location at last minute because of it, though.

Sonoma Coast beach house with world class beach

Cheryl’s place is what legends are made of. Spectacular views of the Sonoma coastline with access to the beach. We all literally felt life’s tension lift from our bodies and souls as we descended the staircase . Just over the top amazing experience that has given us a lifetime memory.

Spectacular view!

The gorgeous views and deck are the best part of this property. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. The owner of the property was probably the best host we have ever had.
