"It's like an old style motel. Room was clean. Beds comfortable. The bathroom was old and dated but functional. The location is perfect within the park with a short walk to the visitor center and tours. Food at the diner was good"

"Communication was proactive and showed a genuine concern for our comfort during our stay. There was an error in double booking on the property’s end and they made extra accommodations for us and went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of. The owner is a very kind person and reached out on a few occasions to ensure we had everything we needed. The cabin was beautiful, well maintained, and clean, and had great amenities for cooking. We enjoyed the brand new grill outside and also used the fire pit and enjoyed the local hiking trail. It is close to Mammoth Cave and we really enjoyed spending half the day at the park then relaxing at the cabin for the rest of the day. Highly recommend!!! (Side note - we are now at our next cabin destination of our road trip and we are missing the comfort and amenities at Maple Retreat!)"

"If you are interested in visiting Mammoth Cave, this property is a few miles north of the park. However, be aware that the best access road directly north through the park has a ferry that operates between 6am and 6pm during the summer. When you can't get the ferry, it is a 40 mile route around the park. I also couldn't get Google Map to locate this property. The yard is charming. The two room cabin is small though well appointed."

"If you are looking to get away and enjoy a great view of nature and quite then this is the place to visit. The location was central enough to provide us trips to Mammoth Cave, Lincolns Birthplace and the Underground lost river. We visited the restaurant Steak and Stone in Leitchfield which was amazing. The home had such warm touches and was so welcoming."
