"The good: The view from the balcony was pretty. The hotel was quiet and the room was spacious. It was a good location for us. The bed was comfortable and so were the sheets. The AC worked, which was good because it was warm during our visit. The TV also worked and there was wifi. We had a good room rate for the 3 nights we stayed. The bad: It seemed the room had not been cleaned very well at all - found lots of stuff on the carpet and bathroom floor from previous customers, and the bathroom counters had not been wiped down. It was pretty gross, actually. The hotel in general (hallways and stairs) was not very clean and really needed to be repaired on the back side of the hotel (lots of rotten siding). The train near the property ran constantly, even throughout the night. The bathroom was very small and cabinet doors were broken. The balcony and plastic chairs were covered in spider webs. No elevator, but at least there were only 2 floors."

"A Spectacular Lakeside Retreat: Highly RecommendedFrom the moment we arrived, the property made a lasting first impression -spectacular, well maintained, and rich with classic charm. We were a large group of 27 guests spanning two generations, with parents and youth aged 14–19, and the space accommodated everyone with ease.The younger guests were wonderfully engaged throughout our stay. The lake offered endless entertainment: kayaking, boating, and beach soccer kept the energy high, while indoor games like chess provided quieter moments of friendly competition. Hide and seek across the grounds became an unexpected highlight. Our girls in particular gravitated toward the property's cozy corners : swings, hammocks, and peaceful nooks perfectly suited for reading, photography, painting, and conversations.In the evenings, Bonfire gatherings brought the whole group together under the open sky, with fire-roasted marshmallows, heartfelt songs, and moments of reflection that left everyone feeling grounded and grateful.Our host Kurt was both generous and accommodating, ensuring our group had everything we needed. He takes clear pride in his property and its amenities, and rightly so...... that care is evident in every detail.We left with full hearts and cherished memories. "Location is great as it’s a ways back off the main road. Close to shopping and restaurants. We were allowed to check in early but when we got to our room, the vanity mirror and bathroom fan did not work. Staff was very helpful and offered us an upgrade to a King Suite! It was a corner room so pretty spacious. Shower was wonderful great water pressure and water temp. Bed comfortable and pull out sofa was as well. Breakfast was a bit underwhelming. Egg “frittata” was a thin flat egg with some kind of seasoning and the edges of the egg yolk was green. Waffles were good and they had bagels, toast, yougurt, etc. juice and coffee as well. The main downside to this hotel in my opinion was the main lobby had a speaker playing music fairly loud during breakfast and the music was not what I would call family friendly. Music is fine just not that loud and maybe not during early breakfast hours. More at check in maybe."

"Room could have been cleaner, there were lots of crumbs under the desk and stains on the bed cover. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Water pressure was good. Breakfast was ok. Good location if going to Indiana Dunes National Park. It was also close to restaurants and little towns."
