Great place for a remote getaway
Loved the cabin and the local trails. Very isolated and quiet. Stars were beautiful at night and saw lots of wildlife. We will be back one day! Thanks for allowing us to enjoy your lovely cabin.

Jeff and Rae have an amazing retreat cabin. I have always enjoyed my stay. The cabin is well appointed with everything one may need. The setting is unbelievable up against the continental divide. I will return .

Excellent views from cabin and property. Lots of woods to hike through, but active moose in the area with babies, so be sure to keep your distance. Fox were also spotted in the area, so be sure not to leave any food outside the cabin. Nice firepit, with lots of chopped wood, and wood for chopping, horse shoes, and hammock to hang in nearby trees with view of the mountains were great!

Amazing get away in the mountains away from neighbors & city life!
Great views along with peace and quiet as you’re out of the city and able to enjoy nature all while being close enough to town for things to do! Would definitely make the trip from Wisconsin again! Cabin is nice and spacious too!

Perfect Getaway
We came to the area to get eloped. This area was a perfect spot right in between Boulder and Black Hawk. We enjoyed the cabin and the snow so much. Thank y’all for accommodating us so well and I enjoyed the helpful notes and tips all throughout the cabin. I would definitely recommend!

This property is beautiful, private, clean and has an amazing view! Nederland is a neat laid back town, drive in any direction and natural beauty abounds. This was a perfect place for my wife and I, it would also suffice for a close group of 4. Highly recommended!

Beautiful Remote Getaway
This cabin is a special place, clearly built with love and pride. The views, the stunning wildflowers, and the quiet were exceptional. The cabin is comfortable and well stocked. You need to be fit enough to either climb a ladder to the loft or wrangle a futon frame. I’m a baby boomer and managed both, but getting on the ladder to climb down might not be for other senior travelers. It’s nice to have a phone and internet service for emergencies, but the cabin is the perfect place to truly enjoy nature and take a break from the outside world. We had several problems during our stay unrelated to the cabin, and Jeff could not have been nicer or more accommodating! I highly recommend this cabin for those who enjoy the Colorado mountains and a peaceful retreat in nature.

Nice modern cabin in mountains
We loved the place. Amazing, very private location. Great for watching stars at night. Loft looked comfortable but we were afraid to use the ladder at night so we slept on downstairs futon. Road/driveway to the house is pretty bumpy even in summer. Only complaint is that instructions describe satellite TV for the house but that has been discontinued.

Heavenly place
The view here at this cabin is so beautiful, absolutely stunning overlook. The seclusion and peacefulness is rare. The owners are super helpful and the cabin itself is just right for two-three people. We loved every minute of our trip. Thank you Jeff and Rea!

Jeff and Reas place was well stocked with all the essentials needed. The location of the cabin is secluded but still close to nederland and Blackhawk. The property has awesome views and the inside of the cabin is super cute, would definitely stay here again if we’re ever in Colorado again!

Peaceful, private and comfy...
It was perfect for our escape from our day to day routine. This place forces you to lay back and slow down. It was easy to keep warm. Though it is very private and away from major roads, it has a couple of cute towns that offer great food and the essentials. We had complete privacy yet our hosts were always reachable with any questions we had. We took a fun bike ride through the dirt roads. We had delicious pizza and Thai in Nederland. They have a great grocery store and cute little shops to get you some souvenirs.

Magic
Two weeks of solitary meditation, Painting, drawing,writing, reading,playing guitar, writing songs, hiking under big blues skies with the snow capped continental divide as back drop. Unbelievable. So many things to be in gratitude for every day. The cabin is in true Henry Thoreau style of Simple living in natural surroundings. Well stocked, comfortable and all that is needed. Refreshing. It was like being in a perpetual surreal painting. Moment to moment capturing a different pallet of color that was on display depending on the sun’s position in the sky. Watching the Hummingbirds outside the front door swirling and dive bombing in delight all to my delight. My favorite experience after sitting down in the doorway on a cooler overcast first morning to be still for a time, I noticed a small store bought helium balloon with the words congratulations dancing on the horizon. Surely for a special new young graduate in this month of no formal gatherings . I captured this sentiment for myself and more than likely appreciated this offering more than the recipient for finally giving myself permission to take time to pull away from-the insane pace of my life. Other worldly. Coronavirus? What virus? The sunsets in the evening from 6 pm to 8 pm were breathtaking. Wonderful, helpful hosts. Altogether, an unforgettable experience. A piece of sanity and solitude will follow me home. I will be back again.

Winter Wonderland
We booked this place to get away from all the noise for Valentine's Day. What a great choice this turned out to be. The cabin is cozy and equipped with everything that's needed. The surrounding nature is amazing. Jeff is a very attentive host and the property feels private and secluded. Definitely planning on a return visit.

We really enjoyed this tranquil, cozy cabin with it's stunning landscape. In the evening, we loved making a fire and gazing at the stars. We would definitely stay here again.

Long weekend getaway
Jeff’s cabin is a beautiful home in an even more beautiful area. Views are incredible. Enjoyed some great hikes to crystal clear lakes at or above 11000ft and the town of Nederville provided good food and cold beer. Perfect for mountain retreat but yet close enough to enjoy a red rocks concert. Very good chance we will be back!

Great place in Colorado
A beautiful week in the mountains near the charming town of Nederland. Although, we spent more and more time at the cabin as the week progressed because it was so nice just to be there. We came to hike and had three really nice day hikes nearby. Also a couple short hikes from the cabin.

Perfect home base for exploring the mountains
Loved everything about our stay! Beautifully crafted cabin left us wanting for nothing. Saw elk the first day and it was a great location to explore - lots of Jeep trails nearby, only about an hour away from RMNP, and the fireworks in Black Hawk (less than 30 minutes away) were one of the best we've ever seen!! Did lots of exploring in the woods surrounding the cabin; beautiful views and perfect for our dog. Thanks for being dog-friendly and even providing bowls, toys, and towels for wiping muddy paws!

Absolutely incredible
My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The property is absolutely incredible, and the views are some of the best you can get. We really enjoyed the solitude this property provided. It’s far enough removed from everything yet close enough to things to be convenient. We went hiking in the national parks every day so this property was the perfect stepping off point. Being from Houston, TX we enjoyed the weather very much and how quiet it was. The guestbook is very thorough with many details about the area and guides for how to work things in the cabin. My wife and I kept smiling and commenting about how nice it was that there were labels/directions on literally everything in the cabin. It’s nice coming in to a place you’ve never been and immediately knowing how to working things and knowing where things are. The property has lots of neat features and it’s obvious the owners have put much thought and care in to it. There is a horseshoe pit, swings, and lots of seating areas outside. Being off the grid was no hassle at all other than my wife’s hair straightener not working (I’m guessing it required too many amps) but literally everything else worked and we were conscious of the battery level throughout the day. We are definitely going to stay here again and thank you for being such gracious hosts.

Secluded Mountain Chalet
I loved this cozy little solar powered cabin, the grand view of the Great Divide and having no neighbors within site or earshot. I was able to cross-country ski from the front door. The only downside for me was the futon sofa-bed in the living room. The futon was very uneven, lumpy and hard and I often woke up with a sore hip. The futon mattress in the loft may have been more comfortable but I didn't want to sleep up where the heat gathers and have to climb up and down the ladder in the middle of the night to use the bathroom so I chose the sofa-bed. Jeff came by and showed me the lay of the land so I could find good ski trails. He and Rea were always available by phone when I needed help.

Wonderful chalet with great views and solitude
We had a great time at the mountain chalet. The views and solitude were exactly what we needed. Everything we needed was easily accessible. Jeff was very attentive to keep the road plowed each day that it snowed or the wind blew. The futon was a little uncomfortable to sit on for long stretches but the easy chair was perfect for reading and relaxing. The kitchen and bathroom had all amenities needed for a comfortable stay. Rocky Mountain National Park is not too far away for a day trip. And Boulder is a nice town for some variety in food and shopping, but the heart of the chalet is its promotion of peace and relaxation. Thank you Jeff and Rea for a great week.

This cabin is amazing. It's tucked in the woods and incredibly peaceful. The touches inside the cabin make you feel instantly at home and despite being small, it has everything you could possibly need during your stay. This is a place we will definitely visit again!

Beyond expectations!
This property is so beautiful and well constructed! It had everything we needed and was the perfect weekend get away. There was not a microwave, but we were able to work around heating things up over the stove. Just something to prepare for! Overall, the chalet was beyond what we had imagined. We got a little snow, and even had a visit from a little red fox one morning. It was the perfect place to celebrate our engagement; so secluded and a ton of space to walk around the property without seeing a single soul the entire weekend.

Second Visit to This Wonderful Mountain View Chalet
This was our second visit to the Mountain View Chalet in Black Hawk. The weather was a lot colder than we had expected but it was still a wonderful experience. It is absolutely beautiful and so relaxing! I would recommend including directions on how to use the french press coffee maker. We googled it and were able to use it but others may not be able to do that. I would highly recommend this chalet for anyone who loves to relax and loves the beauty of outdoors! Charming!

Nice and quiet and comfortable!
Well equipped cozy mountain house. The futon is very comfortable. The internet was speedy and the location is a good base for lots of great hiking. Only thing we found difficult was the loft was a little stuffy so we moved down to the futon. Otherwise very nice bathroom and kitchen. Plenty of wood for the wood for the wood stove. Gas kitchen stove worked very well!

The location is excellent. It is quiet and secluded with wonderful views of the mountains and of sunset. The cabin is clean, comfortable and well stocked. We loved watching and listening to the multiple hummingbirds flying around outside and feeding near the front window.

Amazing Cabin, Great Amenities
This cabin was the perfect place to stay for me and my wife. The cabin is only 500 square feet but you would never guess it. It also has everything you need, such as linens, towels, condiments, wifi, tv, kitchen utensils and supplies, etc. The owners have done a wonderful job creating a cabin for a short stay with a great view and loction to boot. A guest information book is provided which includes all the info you need about the cabin, also it includes nearby restaurants and hikes to enjoy. I reccomennd reading through the book if you will be staying several days. It has very good information.

Beautiful immaculate Chalet
We absolutely LOVED this little chalet! This was the perfect getaway for my husband and I. He's the outdoor type and me, not as much, but this was perfect for both of us. No cell service but WIFI if you need to get a hold of anyone. The views couldn't be any better and they have thought of everything! I wish we had more time there to enjoy the surroundings. We also got to watch a nice big Bobcat outside one morning.
