The COVID-19 outbreak has changed the way we travel, but it hasn't stopped our enthusiasm for exploring. Here are a few tips on how to navigate the new challenges of travelling:

• Research if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before booking anything. Also check if there are any special conditions you'll have to follow on arrival, such as testing and quarantining.
• You're required to wear a face mask at the airport, including at security checkpoints. You should be prepared to adjust your mask to verify your identity when asked by a TSA officer.
• You're no longer required to hand your boarding pass (paper or electronic) directly to a TSA employee. Instead, position your pass on the scanner and then hold it up so the agent can inspect it.
• TSA now allows passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on luggage. This will need to be removed from your bag for X-ray scanning.
• Put any personal items (phone, wallet and keys for example) in your carry-on instead of a bin to reduce handling during the screening process.
• If you're bringing food through the screening checkpoint, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a screening bin. This lessens the likelihood that a TSA agent will need to handle your food container or carry-on bag for closer inspection.
