The town of Lejona/Leioa is very close to Getxo—you can walk there—and to the city of Bilbao. The area around the apartment offers free on-street parking, and there are several spacious spots where you can park safely. You can get to both the beach and the city quickly and safely.
If you need help arranging a pickup from the airport, bus station, train station, or port, I’ll put you in touch with a pickup service.
The space
Let me introduce you to my apartment in Leioa (Lejona in Spanish), which sleeps 4 people. I’ve lovingly renovated and decorated it so you’ll feel right at home during your visit to the Basque Country. The apartment is on the 5th floor WITHOUT AN ELEVATOR, though you’ll only have to climb 4 floors and a few steps—GREAT FOR YOUR HEART. You’ll have a double bed measuring 150 cm by 190 cm, another double bed measuring 135 cm, and a single bed measuring 90 cm. It also has a fold-out bed, and I have a cot available. There’s a full bathroom with a shower, a small terrace, and a beautiful open-concept living-dining-kitchen area equipped with everything you need to enjoy your stay.
The cleaning fee covers only the sheets; you must leave the house tidy, take out the trash, and leave it clean. Failure to do so will result in an additional €50 cleaning charge.
Heating is available from mid-October through April; please use it wisely. Turn it off when you leave the house and when you go to sleep. The temperature in Lejona/Leioa at night does not drop below 8 degrees in winter.
Amenities and common areas
The apartment is within walking distance of Getxo; 200 metres away, you’ll find two large parks where you can take a stroll and access Getxo, the Suspension Bridge, and other locations within a half-hour walk from the apartment. The Old Port of Algorta, with its famous fishermen’s cottages, pintxo bars, and beachfront restaurants, is a delight for the senses. The Marina, a leisure and dining area for young and old alike, is another lovely place to visit.
