"Amazing stay "

"The check-in staff would not match internet pricing, necessitating booking online while right there at the counter. That seemed pretty ridiculous. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. But it was hard to figure out how to turn off some of the lights in the room. The breakfast was cold and tasteless. "

"It was clean and lots of privacy. Nice size yard with nice outdoor furniture and fire ring. The sofa pull out bed has some bent metal bars and wouldn’t stay flat. Barn doors were a bit tricky keep close. Shower needs to be hand held. Lots of thorny sticker burs in yard. We had to work hard to remove them from shoes. The property manager and owner were helpful. When we told them we forgot something at the property, they helped collect the items and let us pick up. "

"I started staying at the Lodge 10 years ago. Once a year my ex and I would ride our Harley for our anniversary weekend and stay at the Antelope Lodge with excitement. We loved how they use to keep the property clean, rooms very nice with a very relaxing atmosphere. Apparently since I last stayed there, over five years ago, the property has changed ownership a few times. It has gone down hill unfortunately. About the only thing I can that was pleasant was the bed. It was very comfortable, but we had been riding our motorcycle all day, so I’m sure we could have slept on the ground just as easily. The outside had lost its visible caricature for the most part. The landscape is very dry and full of goat head stickers. Yah, they suck as bad as they sound. The TV didn’t work so we wound down by watching TV off my iPhone. The floor, well, since they pulled up whatever was down, carpet or tile, it was not very clean feeling for sure. Other than that, it still is a quiet place to stay and I love the nostalgic atmosphere and history. With this said, next year we won’t be staying there unless they make changes. Hope they don’t go out of business and close. Seems they may be heading that direction. "

"Door was not easy to lock with doorknob lock and that was an issue since there was no deadbolt. No person at location for check in. It took a trip across town to get a room key from the desk guy of another hotel. Rustic is the vibe they were shooting for, but I would just call the overall condition old and tired. Expedia would not let me post the picture I took of the chair in the room that looked more like a refugee from a landfill that a piece of hotel furniture."

"Worst hotel/motel I have ever stayed. Condition of room, flooring, plumbing-all was horrible. Outside of room, cigarette butts littered the window sills and floor. Receptionist may? have spoken some English. Apparently some “short term” residents at the property. I slept in my clothes on top of bed spread as I didn’t trust cleanliness. Cheap but…"

"Perfect small house in the area. We came for Big Bend but got a bonus from Alpine and Marfa. Property was close to everything in town."
