Top Berwickshire Coastal Path Hotel Reviews
River View: Characterful Riverside Retreat
10/10 Excellent
"Great location with amazing views."
The Castle Hotel
8/10 Good
"Great location right by station. Unfortunately no on site parking but station car park very close and you can use app to renew days parking from bed! Breakfast ok. Lively bar."
YHA Berwick - Hostel
8/10 Good
"Usual YHA setup but in interesting and peaceful location on a private courtyard, nice and quiet even in the heart of Berwick. Breakfast made to order and very good, includes coffee or you can have one made on an espresso machine for an up charge. Private rooms available with en-suite was a good balance of value for money and privacy"
The Queens Head Hotel Self Check In
8/10 Good
"On line book in. Which worked. A breakfast hamper continental style which worked well. Room had everything needed for a two day stay. Its a downhill slope walk of 14 minutes from Railway station and a bit longer going back. Local buses close. Plenty of local cafes and fish and chip shops handy. Location very good for walking the town walls. The absence of staff seen did not distract from what was a pleasent stay.I would use the hotel again if visiting the area."
The Drawing Room at The Merchants
10/10 Excellent
"Fantastic property in the heart of Berwick. Fantastic hosts, lots of lovely nice touches, large room with big comfortable bed and quality bedding /towels. Would highly recommend for a visit to Berwick."
The Morning Room at The Merchants
8/10 Good
"As this was a relevantly new establishment we weren't sure what to expect, but we had a fabulous stay. Everything was high class, from the coffee bags - not instant, to the shower/shampoo/conditioner. Towels that actually covered me, to posh 'who gives a crap' toilet paper!!We came home one afternoon to find a small punnet of strawberries in our room! We met the owner - Angela, when we were leaving and she was lovely too. She had more ideas for the place so it could be even better for arrivals. The only down side we could find was the door didn't fit so well (it is a very traditional original home) & when it was a bit windy the door moved & rattled- we solved it by wedging it with some paper! Also pillows were quite hard ones & I like soft but I went & bought one locally so again, problem solved! We would recommend staying at The Merchants, wonderful area too to explore. Thank you for your hospitality"
Cinnabar: Romantic Hideaway on Historic Walls
8/10 Good
"Spotless!Very comfortable bed and a great location. If, like my husband, you have mobility issues be aware that1. There are 6 steps up to the bedroom with no handrail2. There are trip hazard rugs in most rooms Our biggest issue was the appalling level of lighting in the sitting room and bedroom. The rooms were so dark that I had to buy a lamp from Argos so I could read and knit. I moved the lamp to whichever room I was in at the time. This was in the middle of the day!!"
The Library at The Merchants
10/10 Excellent
"Nice rooms, comfy and spacious. Helpful and friendly host."
The Old Smokehouse: Central, Bohemian Room
10/10 Excellent
"A great location, set back off Bridge Street, so no noise from the street but all the convenience of some of the best restaurants and pubs and some great independent shops. The room was cosy and informal, with real character, and the bathroom felt luxurious. Free car parking close by meant that the lack of private parking wasn't an issue."
