About this property

Rustic vintage cottage in Duck Cove with limited ocean view.

  • Rosewood Cottage is situated on 2 wooded acres, located on the “Quietside” of Mount Desert Island. The property is secluded, set away from the road and directly across the street from the ocean. There is a ocean breeze with a limited view of the water and Swan’s Island which is a short ferry ride away.

A small brook runs beside the property offering the sound of running water in the spring that becomes a trickle by the dog days of summer. Newly constructed this spring is a 400 square foot deck that wraps around the back of the property offering an ideal spot to relax.

A short walk to the ocean, the house is minutes from Acadia National Park and approximately a 20-30 minute drive to Bar Harbor. It was built in the 1940’s and much of the cottage remains intentionally unchanged. If you are looking for a rustic, authentic, vintage summer cottage, built by native Mainers on Mount Desert Island, in a quiet location, away from crowded tourist areas, this is your place.
