About this property

Rickett's Glen state Park! Our cabin is only 1/2mile from the trail head.

  • We have a beautiful cabin On 10 acres that border Ricketts Glen State Park. The cabin is only 1/4 mile from the trail head at the foot of the mountain. This state park offers beautiful views year round. Whether you would like to hike the 22 waterfall trails, rent a kayak on Lake Jean or curl up with a good book on the sandy beach of the lake, we have the peace and quiet you have been dreaming about! There is also excellent mountain biking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, trail running, and hunting. You will enjoy a relaxing outdoor experience at our cabin. We have a comfortable interior with hardwood floors and all the comforts of home including air conditioning. The outside has many sitting areas including a fire ring and covered back porch.
    Please note that we have another mountain home which borders the park. This home would be better for a larger group 4-8 or a family that likes more space. It has 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms and a large kitchen, family room and game room.

Great place to stay with an outdoor grill and fire ring. Close to Rickets Glen State Park which is why we chose this place. Everything we needed was provided in the cabin. Loved the privacy and location of the cabin. Highly recommend!

It had been a long time since we rented a cabin. Enjoyed the quiet, nice fire pit with plenty of seating. The cabin was stocked with basics. Cabin was fairly clean. Enjoyed our stay.

It's a nice place, clean, with all the amenities you'd expect. Host had a fire going for me when I arrived which was much appreciated. Host was responsive and accommodating to my change of plans, having to leave a day early.

Love this cabin

I took my three teens for a long weekend to Rickettes Glenn to hike the waterfalls. This is a great location with multiple dining choices nearby. The cabin itself is lovely and very comfortable. We had a blast all around!

This cabin was everything we thought it would be and more. The peaceful tranquility of the woods only helped to boost the cozy, relaxing environment of the cabin itself. We loved this cabin

Our stay was awesome. The cabin was cozy and very welcoming. The property was amazing. It was very peaceful and the tranquility of the woods made it even better. We loved Rickets Glenn Park and the cabin is very close to the park entrance. Great communication with host. When we arrived, Jeff stopped by and introduced himself. Rented both houses for wedding at Ricketts Glen

Adorable cabin in the woods, wish we had more time to sit and enjoy but we're fairly busy with my daughters wedding nearby at Adams Falls. We stayed here with kids ages 4-11 and had my parents stay at the other house, as this house has a spiral staircase and all bedrooms are upstairs. Would stay again.

The Colonel's Cozy Cabin

The cabin was cute and space was well used. I especially enjoyed the porches and walking the little trail behind the cabin in the morning. We LOVED Rickett's Glen State Park and how close we were to it. Jeff was a fantastic host and was so responsive. He even stopped by with something we needed for the kitchen sink. We would come back in a heart beat.

End of summer trip

Took a few days off at the beginning of the week to show my children the beautiful waterfalls of Ricketts Glen. I chose this place because of the absolutely perfect location, but there was more than just the location that we loved. The fire pit outback was the perfect setup for mountain pies and s'mores. A huge box of wood, protected from the rain, was available for $5 for 10 pieces. We played Monopoly, cards, and Worst Case Scenario, all of which were in the cabin. We had all the cooking utensils we needed for pancakes, eggs, bacon, and toast. Plenty of paper towels, toilet paper, and garbage bags. We hiked 7 miles one day and it was nice to quickly return to the cabin in less than 5 minutes and rest. There are also several restaurants within 10 minutes as well as a Dollar General, corner store, and gas station. If we come out that way again, we'd definitely try and get this cabin again.
