The best area to stay in Bellino is the main village, which offers the most convenience and a central base for exploring the region.

The main village of Bellino is located in the heart of the Varaita Valley. It's a collection of charming stone hamlets, with the central area providing access to the few local amenities available. You'll find a church, a small shop for essentials, and a couple of eateries here. The layout is quite traditional, with narrow lanes winding between alpine buildings, and it serves as a natural starting point for many local walking trails.

Couples looking for a peaceful escape into the mountains will find the main village ideal. It offers a tranquil setting with direct access to stunning natural beauty. You can enjoy leisurely strolls, take in the crisp mountain air, and experience the quiet rhythm of traditional Italian alpine life, all while having basic provisions close at hand.

For those keen on outdoor activities, particularly hiking and cycling, staying in the main village is highly practical. Many well-marked trails, ranging from gentle walks to more challenging mountain ascents, begin directly from or very near the hamlets.

The best time to visit Bellino is typically during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) for pleasant weather and outdoor activities.

During late spring, the valley begins to bloom, offering wonderful opportunities for hiking and exploring the natural beauty without the intense heat of summer. The days are long, and the mountain paths are generally accessible, making it ideal for those who enjoy walking and discovering alpine flora.

Early autumn provides crisp, clear days with comfortable temperatures, great for outdoor pursuits like cycling or trekking. The changing colours of the foliage in the surrounding mountains are particularly striking during this period, creating picturesque landscapes for photographers and nature lovers.
