The space
Legitimately one of the first houses ever in Picton, built in 1840 but looking incredibly good for her age. This two-storey brick residence has been updated from top to bottom to offer a more contemporary take on an historic heritage home.
Art-inspired design in each and every room, featuring an array of local artists and pieces from around the world, everything from colourful cityscapes to clever Canadiana.

We had a fabulous time and the accommodations were perfect for what we needed. We were super centrally located for the activities we did and were able to walk to dinner in downtown Picton. The Dans were super responsive and helpful. I would love to stay here again and highly recommend it.
Wonderful attentive hosts and a great property. Lots of space and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Walking distance to everything. Definitely will go back.
We had a wonderful stay! The home was beautiful, clean, and great decor! Plenty of room – bedrooms, washrooms. Would highly recommend! And in a great area!
What a charming home. So much character. Great location and wonderful amenities. The hosts were wonderful and very communicative. We will go back for sure.
Perfect spot for six friends together for a cycling weekend in the country. Plenty of space, plenty of bathrooms to accommodate us all.
Funky decor to add to the enjoyment.
Conveniently located near Picton Main Street for shopping and dining out.
We had a wonderful stay at The Dans’ property. The home was very comfortable, in an excellent location and had loads of room to relax, either indoors or out! We will definitely return.
The property was in a great location and everything we needed was there. We mixed up the entry lock and Dan was quick to respond and help us get in. We will definitely stay there again if we’re in the area.
Great house right near the centre of Picton! There's a nice big backyard and deck which is perfect for outdoor dining and hanging out. Inside the house is also great - a nice big kitchen, multiple bedrooms and neat decor. I would recommend for a group of friends or family getting together.
Enjoyed our girls weekend, great location, close walk to town and short drive to Bloomfield, local wineries, Sandbanks. Beautiful home, lots of space to accommodate 6 adults. House did smell a little musty upon entering, but really a non issue. Loved it! Linda & friends
I've been staying in the county at least once a year for the past 15 years and this place is definitely one of my favorites. It is such a beautiful place and so tastefully decorated. It is also spotless. Communication with the owners was always very prompt and very helpful. And the location was fantastic - very short walk to main street in Picton. While we didn't get to use the decks and backyard (it was November), they looked great too. Oh, and did I mention, there's 3 bathrooms? I'd book here again without hesitation.
This was a great house and location! We were in town for a wedding - a family of four plus my older parents.
Dan was great and very flexible. House had plenty of bedrooms and beds. Three bathrooms were also great since six people had to get ready:)
Each room has its own A/C unit that was remote control managed.
Location was also great, a very short walk into theain street of town (just a bit steep one way).
Would strongly recommend and would do it again in a heart beat.
Lots of room inside and outside for us, our three grown children and two small dogs. A historic home fully renovated with a modern kitchen and bathrooms, with many historic details combined with funky art on the walls. We mostly just slept here as we were home in the County for the holidays, but the beds were comfortable with nice linens and duvets and the central location met our needs perfectly! The lighting in some rooms was the only detractor as the weather outside was grey and the antique-like lightbulbs did not brighten the inside sufficiently for my tastes. A wonderful home. We will definitely book again!
It was an absolute pleasure staying at 56 Bridge St.
This is such a well appointed abode.
Very clean and completely ready for anyone to just walk in, unpack and relax. We were negligent in reading the entire Welcome Guide that provided checklist to follow at Check Out time. We apologize for not putting out the garbage or recycling to the storage shed.
If you are expecting the Ritz, you should move on. This is simply a very comfortable everyday home.

Great Location
The Dans is ideally located if you’re wine touring, brew hopping, or spending your day checking out Picton, you’re just a very short walk from downtown. The pictures are an accurate presentation of the hip vibe of the home, and the space easily accommodates 6 adults with pretty private sleeping areas. However, the space is a little tight for anymore than 4 to spend social time together, so you definitely need to get out and explore. 2 of the 3 showers really don’t work, so mornings are a bit of a challenge. The outdoor space is probably great in the summer, but in the shoulder season we struggled with heat and windows that show their age.

Family vacations 1 week stay
While the location is undoubtedly beautiful, and the house itself is charming, I regret to inform that we have encountered some significant problems during our stay.
First and foremost, the cleanliness of the property left much to be desired. Upon our arrival, we were met with a very dirty house, and a persistent, unpleasant odor of dampness inside. This odor made our stay quite uncomfortable and negatively impacted our overall experience.
In addition to the odor, the state of cleanliness was subpar. The dishes in the kitchen were dirty, and we even found old coffee grounds in the coffee machine's filter. Furthermore, there were numerous hairs on the floors, which did not belong to us.
We understand that maintaining a property can be challenging, but it's essential for guests to have a comfortable and clean environment during their stay.
We believe that with some attention to detail, the rental property can live up to its full potential. For those reasons we are not renting the same location for next year vacations. Thanks.
House was very clean and had everything we needed for a three night stay. A number of restaurants were within easy walking distance and the kitchen was well supplied with dishes and cooking utensils for the meals we chose to have there. Would definitely recommend to others.
Great spot. Clean, roomy, heritage home. Close to Picton main street. The rental home was great but very disappointed with communications from VRBO. That was awful.
We enjoyed our week at The Dans. Place was clean and well-appointed and the combination of rustic century home with modern updates was really charming. All appliances worked well, linens were clean and the place had lots of room to entertain. Check in and check out was super smooth and the hosts were responsive if we had any questions. It was nice being a 5 minute walk from Main St and all wineries and attractions are a short drive. Would definitely recommend.

Nice large house, very close to shops and Sandbanks!
We had a lovely four night stay while exploring the County. Ample room for two couples and two kids (and a dog) and more would have fit easily. Conveniently close to Picton shops and an ample back yard was handy for the dog. The large kitchen and dining room were great for preparing a few meals and eating as a group. Some things could do with a bit of a refresh (e.g. broken blinds, old couch, shower curtain) and noise is a consideration as it is on a busy road, but it did not dampen our stay and we would easily recommend this place. Great communication from the host as well!
