Holidays to the Belgian Ardennes
Book your trip to the Belgian Ardennes and prepare yourself for an amazing holiday in beautiful nature. Go on long walks through the forest, go horse riding, visit a few sights and take pictures of waterfalls and caves. You'll love this place!
The nature reserve is relatively far from big cities in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands and was therefore never really very populated. Various battles also took place here over the centuries, the last of which was the Battle of the Bulge between the Germans and the Allied Forces in WWII.
But the most important attraction of all is, of course, the natural beauty of the Belgian Ardennes. Enjoy the sound and smell of the woods on a bicycle ride or a walk. The Coo Waterfall and the gardens of Annevoie are both must-sees.
Adventurers should visit the impressive Caves of Han-sur-Lesse with its corridors, stalagmites and stalactites. Take a good torch with you so you don’t miss anything.
A visit to the Belgian Ardennes is not complete without having seen a few castles! Highly recommended are Reinhardstein Castle near the Belgian town Ovifat and Bouillon Castle near the French border where a torchlight procession takes place in the evening.
The countless walking trails and bicycle routes make it easy to discover the Ardennes on foot or by bicycle. You can also explore the area by horse-drawn carriage or boat if you're near the water. Longer distances are best travelled by your own means of transport.
The best way to get to the Belgian Ardennes is by car or motorbike. From Calais, follow signs to Lille and then to wherever you're headed in the Ardennes. If you're travelling by train, board at London St Pancras and change trains in Lille to your destination. You may have to change trains more than once.
Enjoy a relaxing stay in the Ardennes with the whole family or a romantic weekend away with your partner. Come see for yourself!
