Chopin Boutique was the most delightful place I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. All of the staff were helpful and kind, and the owner Jarek made me feel so welcome there. The bed was comfortable and the shower was the best I’ve seen in a hotel. As a lover of Chopin, I loved the Chopin concert that happens right there in a pre-war salon setting. I was pleasantly surprised that bikes were available to use, and riding is quite easy and accommodated in Warsaw and the surrounding areas. The breakfast was delicious and I had an incredible dinner at the restaurant as well. So much care has been put into every inch of this place. I have been telling everyone about it, and can’t wait to return!

We booked last minute for a one-night stay. The site did not indicate an additional deposit and the property sent a link for payment through a private email that went to spam. I missed that email and upon calling, the woman was dismissive stating I should get to a cafe for wifi before 10pm cutoff. It was 930pm, had my three kids with me, and was frantically trying to get this payment through. A little more kindness would have gone a long way. Take note: A lot of stairs to take. There is active construction going on in the area. The property taped signs on all the windows saying to not open them due the possibility of the glass breaking due to winds. There are several fans available but it was not enough to dissipate the heat in the rooms and we were sweltering. We booked due to the great reviews and were expecting a nice, reasonable stay. This was a terrible stay. I did request a refund from the owner before checking out of the property due to the circumstances and was declined since I “completed” my stay and did not reach out when the problems occurred. I am understanding this to mean calling at 3a asking to permit me to open a window or something? I’m not sure. I did want to give the positives. We did think the apartment was true to the pictures. They provided some amenities like body wash and shampoo. Pillows were plentiful.

I was only here for less than 24 hours, and for a quick stop before a flight it wasn’t bad. My main complaint is that the bathroom smelled really bad, like bad water, so I had to keep the door closed. The bed was comfortable and the place was quiet enough for sleep. I did find it a bit hard to find at night in the rain, but that probably had more to do with Google Maps terrible walking directions from the train station. The host did a good job of sharing info on how to enter once I arrived.

First off the location is good. Nicely walkable to a lot of things. We were able to check in 30 minutes early and the staff arranged an airport transfer for our departure. After that it was odd. Room 14 on the ground floor smells…funny? As soon as you open the door everyday you could smell it. My closest description is the light scent of sewage. Like something was coming up from a drain but I could never localize it. It dulled after a while. But you noticed it every time you entered the room. Second the beds. They had plastic protectors below the sheets. It was like sleeping on a noisy diaper. It was not comfortable. It also left you sweaty hot because, well plastic doesn’t breathe really well. So you’d sweat then you’d roll over then the plastic would crinkle around. Then you’d sweat some more. This was our 5th hotel in Poland and we didn’t encounter this anywhere else. Also the sheets. Or comforter? We had a queen or double but the sheets were harrow for only one person. So the bed was normal sized but each person got this long 3 foot wide comforter. Parts of your body could sneak out from under but that helped solve the plastic sheet sweats. So bonus? Lastly. Small complaint but the TV wasn’t centered on the wall. It was off to the side and smallish for the room so if you were in bed it was hard to see. The bed was in the middle but to watch TV you had to twist around to watch it in a corner. Finally a week later and the hold is still on my credit card.
