The carpet was badly in need of being vacuumed but as I noted, the individual rooms were very clean and spotless. I loved the king size bed but like all other mattresses I have encountered in China, it's like sleeping on plywood. I like a big pillow top, sink-into-it mattress which no hotel or home seemed to have but other than that, it was a quiet little place on a nice tree-lined neighborhood street with close access to the Drum and Bell Towers as well as Hua Hai lake. ##### Cory ### 6/10 Okay #### daniel, somewhere on earth 24 May 2016 Disliked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities #### time to get a new carpet or get rid of it entirely I had already stayed in this hotel some time ago, and had been satisfied. So I gave it another try a few days ago. The location is great (bus 635 stops close by and allows you to go to Dongzhimen where you can catch the airport express train), and the staff is friendly, however, I found the carpet really in need of change: it smells and is dirty and threadbare in some places, and I don't think that the staff was very effective in cleaning it (little bits of papers were still on it after they cleaned). Why don't hotels forget about filthy carpets and use flooring that can be WASHED and sanitized.
