Definitely worth waking up early to walk around the hutongs nearby before dawn—highlight of our trip. The building is older and is due for an update, but is very clean and warm. Reasonable walking distance from subway station. A lot of good Chinese foods selections around the area. Hotel staffs are very helpful and the overall service is very good. The only complain is the toilet blocked twice and we have to use the public restroom in the hotel for a couple nights. That might not be their fault because afterward we learnt that the local general public in that area do not put the "soiled" toilet paper etc into the toilet for flushing. They keep them in a separate bin waiting for collection. A cultural thing that we are not used to. The price is very reasonable compared to other hotel with the same facilities with services that is not as good. I will go again if I am planning on having the same budget.
