My husband really enjoyed our stay in Beijing. Hotel Kapok is centrally located within walking distance to shops and restaurants. About a 30-60 minute drive to PEK (depending on traffic) and 60-90 minute drive to the Great Wall Mutianyu. The hotel breakfast was really good and had a variety of options. Einrichtung alt und gebraucht, das einzig gute war das Bett. Personal insgesamt sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sogar über das normale hinaus. Ausnahme das Personal am ersten Abend eine Katastrophe. Wollten über dubiose Kanäle mir für die verbotene Stadt Tickets besorgen. Die Dame am nächsten Morgen hat das ruckzuck erledigt ohne dubiose Mittelmänner. Schlimmster Punkt: ich habe gefragt ob es ein Nichtraucherhotel ist, die Antwort war ja, daraufhin habe ich gebeten , sie sollen doch bitte mit dem Herren aus dem Nebenzimmer sprechen: offene Tür durchgehend am rauchen, die ganze Etage hat nach Rauch gerochen. Había 3 armarios, escritorio, sillón, cama bastante cómoda, y el baño que era súper grande y estaba dividido en 3 zonas. Además, todas las bebidas del minibar son gratuitas. El desayuno es buffet, si eres occidental puede que no sepas qué elegir de la selección, pero para lo que son los desayunos asiáticos es un buffet bastante variado (dulce, salado, tostadas, café, zumo...). Se nota que el hotel no es nuevo, pero en general está en buen estado y lo recomendaría por su comodidad y ubicación. Como puntos débiles a mejorar destacaría que: en la habitación hay mesa de escritorio pero no silla (por lo que para trabajar no es muy práctico, si estás poco en la habitación o vas por ocio no es tan importante) y la mayoría del personal apenas habla inglés (ya que es un hotel frecuentado sobre todo por locales al parecer) por lo que no pueden aconsejarte ni darte indicaciones porque no te entienden, aunque es cierto que son muy amables y sí que me llamaron un taxi para ir al aeropuerto (pero dudas más concretas no te las resuelven). ##### M. Free soft drinks in mini-bar is a plus. Room is spacious with a large closet and a attached small bamboo garden patio that you can sit outdoors and relax. Bedding is firm and comfortable. Overall impression is that the hotel looks dated and not well maintained as one may expect from seeing the photos at the Hotel.com website. Room is not very clean as we found hairs around the wash basin. Easy to hail for a cab. There is a convenient store just beside the hotel. Turning left from the property’s entrance, 10-15 mins walk to Forbidden City main entrance. Turning right, 10 mins walk to Wangfujing Street. There are plenty of eateries around the vicinity too. I stayed in a family suite (60sqm). Windows can be opened. The only downside of the room are the lightning which can be very dimmed at night and quite dusty in the room. Hope the hotel can improve on these areas. Humidifier is provided in the room during my winter stay. But that is according to chinese standard. If i were to rate it according to international standard its just a 3 star. The staffs there are very helpful and friendly. But the cleanliness of the room especially the toilet is bad, and it shows signs of ageing. Located at a central area. But far from nearest metro. And there is no designated area for pick up and drop off. Its at the main road.
