Luxury hotel and friendly staff, Less than ten minutes walk into the city centre and benefits of having a car park. Nice gym and spa included in the price, This was my third time staying here and will be coming back again!!

Pleasant hotel close to Bath Town Centre.

Posted 23-Nov-2016
Pros: The grandeur of the hotel, the excellent food and pleasant staff.
Cons: The heating systems in the hotel especially reception and the main restaurant.
Location: Bath Town Centre is a short walk away as is the Roman Baths.
Very pleasant stay for 5 nights. Hotel is very grand but rather chilly in reception and the restaurant. Food is excellent and the staff very pleasant and accommodating. Would stay again but take more warm clothing.

Extremely dissappointed. Will not come back again.

Posted 17-Nov-2016
Pros: Rooms are generally clean, but quite cold during winter and the garden level rooms smell unpleasant and too humid.
Cons: 1. Manager and staffs'attitude towards customers. 2. Quicker service 3. Hygiene of the spa locker room and shower area.
Location: Location is good. You can walk to the central part of Bath within 15-20 minutes.
My mum and aunt visited from Korea. I wanted to show them a different part of the UK. So I booked this hotel's twin room via Expedia, which says "Room sleeps 3 guests (up to 2 children)". Just by reading what's written on the website, I understood that the "3 guests" meant 3 adults or 2 adults plus up to two children. But when I arrived there for check-in, the receptionist said that the room only allows 2 adults and told me that I have to book another room which costs me extra 159 GBP. She started making phone calls to arrange the payment, but what made us even angry was what she spoke over the phone. In front of us, she said "Here are guests who booked a twin room thinking that it sleeps 3 adults...They are not English." So I couldn't help myself but get an impression that she was thinking we misunderstood because we weren't English. Moreover, when we finally got inside the room, none of the lights were turning on, so we called the reception to fix it. They told me to wait for the maintenance team which didn't show up and made us waste more than 15 minutes. I had to go to the the reception and ask them again and it finally got fixed. We spent so much money for one very special night, and we've already wasted more than AN HOUR with all this fuss at this hotel. The spa was a huge DISAPPOINTMENT. Inside the locker room - used towels everywhere. shower area - so DIRTY with black mold on the floor. the ventilator-covered with dust. AND SMELLED LIKE AN OLD PUBLIC BATH.

excellent hotel -beautiful grounds

Posted 16-Nov-2016
Pros: good quality, and well run
Cons: nothing obvious but bus directions would have been useful- especially for elderly visitors.
Location: For some - it could have been nearer the shopping and arts centres- plenty to see by walking
I act as carer for my husband- which can be quite stressful. My break away from home was everything I could have wished-pleasant surroundings, good food, everything running smoothly, near enough to Bath Cityfor sightseeing , but very peaceful

My 50st Birthday - Hotel was disappointing

Posted 29-Oct-2016
Pros: The building, gardens, the friendly staff and cutlery was of good quality. . Cannot comment about the spa as I didn't used it. Everything else was disappointing
Cons: Stayed 2 nights in room (211) for my 50st birthday treat in October 22-24. The room was old and dated, furniture was damaged (material frails on the dirty armchair), the décor was old and looks like wasn't been looked at since 1970. You expect an antique look Downton Abbey lookalike and you get a used 1970's room similar with my mother bedroom. Everywhere you looked was missing the attention to detail: TV was old, no iplayer, the lid from the teapot was not fitting, no hangers, no place to boil the kettle as the power cable was to short so didn't reach the table so I had to make it on the floor, shower head was splashing in all directions... Breakfast was of very poor quality and for dinner the carrots were raw . We paid for me, my husband and my 12yo daughter 63 pounds for a breakfast which was sub standard. The service was poor because the staff was not organised properly. After being served the coffee we were told someone else will take our order. After waiting for ages we had to stop one of the waiters from their frantic run to take our order. He was prompt and got us the full breakfast but the toast was burned and not enough (one extra thin slice per person). We had to again stop one of the waiters to ask for more, then we were left with the dirty plates on the table and no one bothered to clear up. Just a shamble. Next day we wanted to have breakfast just because we wanted to leave on a full tummy but it was a huge queue so we gave up
Location: Bath is lovely but chose another hotel

Not well set up for families

Posted 28-Oct-2016
Location: Bath town centre is beautiful & we enjoyed visiting the Baths and walking around the centre watching the street performers.
If I'd been travelling without my two children this hotel would have been fine, however as it was when we arrived the promised single bed was not set up - and hen it finally was set up it was uncomfortable. The toilet was out of order & needed to be fixed. There were no children's television channels available & the children were not allowed in the pool after 5pm. We headed down to the pool when we got up the next morning only to find that only half the pool was available for swimming in due to a regular fitness class which we'd not been informed of. Nb,if you go on a Tuesday morning the whole pool is in use for a fitness class.

My 50st birthday treat- Disappointed

Everything else was disappointing. If you expect treats on the pillow and swan folded towels, this is not the place.

Great location and beautiful hotel.

Posted 26-Oct-2016
This is a beautiful hotel in a great location, with only a 10 minute walk into Bath. The spa and health studio facilities were great and would recommend using the steam rooms.
