Villa Koora is such a magical place to visit because staying here is a legitimate Costa Rican experience. Slide the screen door open and you can easily pick cacao and coconuts from trees in the yard. Witness a myriad of butterflies, toucans, and many species of tropical birds dodging and darting through the jungle canopy each morning. This is the real Costa Rica. And if you haven’t experienced it for yourself, the time is now. Villa Koora is a 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom vacation villa located 15 minutes east of the southern Pacific coastal town of Dominical. Access in and out of the property is a cinch, and there are markets and locally-run restaurants (know as Sodas) within a 10-minute trip by car. Tucked in a neat little community called Valley of the Horses, this 12-year-old villa is extremely private and secure. Villa Koora has all of the modern amenities guests should expect at such a nice property, including wireless Internet, satellite television, A/C throughout the house, Sonos music system, washer, and dryer unit, and a dishwasher. There are dueling master bedrooms on each end of the house. Both master bedrooms feature queen beds, en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning units, walk-in wardrobes, and outdoor showers. The third guest bedroom also has a queen mattress and AC unit, and its bathroom is just outside the bedroom door. The kitchen is large and fully equipped with all of the necessary cutlery. It also features an island bar with stools and an 8-seat dining table. Cooking fresh catch and whipping up native fruit smoothies is as easy as it gets at Villa Koora. There are fruit stands up and down the main road accessing the property. Some vendors even sell souvenirs. Another thing about the inside of the villa that must be mentioned is the decor. It is fabulous and totally Costa Rican, with Boruca Indian masks on the walls and lively handmade crafts lining the shelves. There’s a lot to see and a whole lot to like about the decor at Villa Koora. While the inside of the house is excellent, the outdoor space is otherworldly. The lush native plants absolutely pop in the tropical sunshine. The swimming pool -- about 25 feet by 10 feet -- is a dreamy temperature all year long. There’s a barbecue outside, along with lounge chairs, rocking chairs, and a sofa. There’s also a small grass area for the young ones to enjoy. You will be comfortable outside and the valley-to-mountain views will bring all types of joy. This we can guarantee. And the best feature of all? Well, that’s probably the trail that leads to a small, private waterfall only about 5 minutes down the dirt. Keep walking past the waterfall, get a bit adventurous and take a hike all the way to the river about 30 minutes along the trail toward Nauyaca Waterfall. All and all, it’s an awesome way to spend your time on vacation. There are all types of great activities nearby, including surfing, river rafting, kayaking, parasailing, fishing, stand-up paddling, zip-lining, ATV riding, and waterfall rappelling. There were two identical master suites situated at either end of the house which was ideal for two couples. Our favourite time of the day was sunrise on the beautiful patio enjoying all of the birds and other wildlife that visited. The house was well appointed with all the necessities for an enjoyable stay and the property management company was responsive and great to deal with. It was nestled in a lovely mountain setting and is beautifully landscaped with various birds and butterflies in view at all times. The home is nicely appointed as accurately reflected in the photos and listing. The location was perfect for us with Dominica 15 minutes away and other close by adventures at Nayaucaa Falls, Cordovado National Park, mangrove ecosystems, and myriad other beaches and waterfalls. After each of these trips we enjoyed cooking at home (NB for cooks - there are few spices), relaxing in the pool and playing games or watching movies in the living room. ##### Michael C. The villa's location in the middle of the jungle is the ideal place to get away from it all. The villa's facilities are of a high standard and everything is well looked after. The garden is immaculate, the pool is pristine and the house was cleaned whilst we were there. The kitchen is very well equiped and the 3 bathrooms mean you don't queue when you come with a family. The proximity to the shops, beach and route 34 makes it ideally located to explore the area. We didn't want to leave.... The mature and thoughtful landscaping was a nice frame for the view out to the jungle valley. We are birdwatchers and the variety of trees - from close in to far away - for perching was perfect. The only negatives: queen sized beds in rooms that could easily handle kings. Dull knives. The patio could get hot on days without cloud cover - we ended up relishing the (frequent) rain. Once in 2020, which was rebooked for the same week in 2021 after being canceled for COVID. When the cruise company we were booked with canceled again, we decided to get our money back and hurry and find another place to visit with only 8 weeks to go before making the trip. We did a bit of research in Costa Rica, because my husband had heard several wonderful things about it and we figured we'd give it a shot. I'm so glad we went with YouGetHere Property Management for several reasons. The first was the ease of communication I had with Neil, Stephen, and Jhonnathan. Several messages went back and forth and were promptly responded to, which made me feel like they were a team who paid attention. They also helped refer us to companies for our car rental service, activities, private chef service for our stay, and even where to get our COVID return tests for the United States. The house itself was unbelievable, and the pictures though gorgeous on this site do not do it justice--it has to be seen in person to truly appreciate this beautiful house with the unreal views of the valley jungle behind it. The pool was glittering and refreshing, and if that isn't enough there's a short trail behind the house to a waterfall with fresh water to stick your feet into and dunk your head in. It was myself, husband, and our best couple friends who used the house with room to spare. The two large suites are virtually identical, though on opposite sides of the house, and are equally comfortable and luxurious offering amazing views from their porches. There was an entire bedroom and main bath that were never used, and could easily hold another couple or maybe a kid. If you're adventurous and don't care how you sleep, you could even stash a few people on the couch, which is large. AC units in the two main bedroom suites kept the nights very comfortable. Even though the main house does not have AC, there are a plethora of ceiling fans, and the wall of sliding glass doors open with all fans going in and outside on the very large patio were enough to generate a good breeze flowing in and out. Kitchen is huge, and there are two dining areas as well. I can't say enough great things about this house and the company that manages it. The location is amazing and the view from the deck is stunning. We saw an abundance of wildlife (e.g. toucans, hummingbirds, butterflies) just from the pool. La vue sur les montagnes est magnifique . Le service des employés de YouGetHere est impeccable. Les photos sont représentatives de la réalité, il n'y manque rien . Plusieurs endroits à visiter à proximité (Dominical 15 min, Uvita 35 min, Manuel Antonio 40 min). Ne pas négliger la petite boulangerie à Platanillo. From the moment we drove down the driveway to the front door and opened the front door we stepped into paradise..The house is absolutely perfect!! if the home was for sale I would have bought it and never left. I enjoyed every moment of my stay. The view is spectacular the grounds are amazing The house is one of the nicest I've stayed in. location perfect. tranquil peaceful surreal I could go on and on....definitely a house I would come back to and stay for a longer period of time, maybe forever!!! ##### reiko m.
